Surely 6hours of heavy snow is enough to give 5-10cm!

Upgrade? sure is acute.gif

Just a tad more West would be amazing... sorry.gif

It doesn't need to be further west. The front actually spans across northern England, the pennines are killing it off leaving a rain shadow across north west England so as long as you arent west of the pennines there'll be no problems with lack of snow.

I never realised this was the dating forum of intentional references to a back door and front door and inches. Come on guys. Leave the flirting to PMS! Lol

How we cope in a dusting??? Hope 1947/63 dont come again uk will not survive.

That Canada pic must be from a hopeful Canadian as im certain thats not Canada. Looks like the Tateyama Alpine Expressway in Northern Japan, they have pretty much

the highest snowfall totals in the world in N Japan. They have to dig through up to 20m of snow with heavy machinery and snow blowers to clear the road every year.

Just hanging off Siberia they get amazing winter weather. Look it up, and Hokkaido Japan if you want to see some real snow, makes our good winters look like a frost.

Yep showing heavy snow for me in Castleford now on Met Office from 9pm Sunday until at least 6am Monday

post-11617-0-36855600-1358608576_thumb.j

Above is the precip chart from the 6z GFS for 9pm Sunday night.

A lot of precipitation going to waste in the sea there, could do with the 12z GFS that starts rolling out in the next 15 minutes to push that precip back westwards.

Can someone advise how i make images bigger when uploading ?

I'd leave it until the morning mate and if things are still looking good, then tell them then that more snow is coming.

NAE accumulation charts look very good, much better for inland areas.

If NAE came to fruition, then I genuinely believe this good be a really good event for us. A fair few hours of heavy snow.

Latest NAE looks good for most, totals approaching 15cm in one or two areas from projected snowfall sun night/mon am, widely 5-10cm.

Snizzling well here, looking at the radar it seems to be dropping down to us off the front of that area in the N Sea off Scarborough.

Be nice if it picks up again.
