I would guess South London Topically, I think that there should now be weather reports from South London. Afterall the North Downs create uplift for various 'weathers'

Just watched the weather forecast on BBC and he said 'something brewing in the South West on Sunday'.  As an old Bristol boy I am hoping he is talking my language:

Here is a realistic analysis of the UK weather from those much underrated forecasters Flanders & Swann (note June.....):

 

January brings the snow,Makes your feet and fingers glow.February's ice and sleet,Freeze the toes right off your feet.Welcome, March, with wint'ry wind,Would thou weren't not so unkind.April brings the sweet spring showers,On and on for hours and hours.Farmers fear unkindly May,Frost by night and hail by day.June just rains and never stops,Thirty days and spoils the crops.In July the sun is hot, Is it shining? No it's not!August, cold and dank and wet,Brings more rain than any yet.Bleak September's mist and mud,Is enough to chill the blood.Then October adds a gale,Wind and slush and rain and hail.Dark November brings the fog,Should not do it to a dog.Freezing wet December, then...Bloody January again!

showers around but mainly light

 

still a gusty west to north west wind

 

easing off by mid afternoon

 

temps somewhere around 18 degrees maybe a tad higher to the north of the region

 

expect some heavy rain moving in late pm

 

tomorow night

 

a breezy west to north west wind

 

should stay mainly dry

 

temps around 10-12 degrees

 

friday

 

a gusty south west wind

 

rain early then clearing most areas by early pm  may stick north east of the region for most of the day

 

temps around 16-18 degrees a touch higher where the sun comes out

 

friday night

 

a gusty south west wind

 

heavy rain moving in overnight effecting all areas

 

temps 12-14 degrees

 

saturday

 

a tricky one this

 

a gusty westerly flow

 

there will be some rain around but it will be patchy and some areas may be mainly sunny

 

will finalise this tomorrow

 

temps around 18-20 and could get higher where the sun sticks around

 

sunday

 

the low is the problem here

 

however at present it shows a southerly flow and weak

 

it looks dry at present

 

temps could sneak up to 22 or higher in this flow

 

would be nice if correct

I reckon that could be a good place to be CK! Fingers crossed, looks like most of us will get gusty winds up to 50mph on the coasts, maybe less inland.

windy, gussetty, but sunny.

 

I fear the fading memory of summers like 1995 and those seemingly endless long hot summers (so it seemed at the time) from 1988 onwards will fade to nothing as the new 'norm' takes hold. I find the current run of summers very worrying, harsh long winters, stunted crops and lack of insect activity will be very damaging if it continues.

 

I doubt most will take any notice until prices rocket.
