There is a real pungent smell of ozone!

Perhaps you need a shower? Posted Image

Just joking. I noticed the smell last night when it was raining, sort of musty scent you get during convective rainfall. Pretty sure it has something to do with the amount of humidity / water that's hanging about in the atmosphere.

Surprised excepted more on the Radar this evening. Looks like T storms are not on agenda this week after all.

Well its been warmer here than in SE England and it looks like the thundery potential is ever waning. And tomorrow, lots of sun in the afternoon for us. Win.

Some signs of more of an organised push of thundery weather exiting the Pyrenees and into France now.

Something to keep an eye on over the next few hours for sure

Looks to be a little something forming (trying to form) around the Shropshire/Staffordshire area

Had that sheffield cell come over not long ago, didn't bring anything other than 8/8 mid-level cloud which appeared to be quite moisture content in places. Perhaps the Pennines and the 23/24'c heat from the Manchester urban area could be enough uplift to finally make something go 'boom'.

NMM/Met Office in agreement on some high ppn rates in the south east this evening, indicative of possible thunderstorm activity.

Best chance yet I think. It has had a lovely humid feel all day here, dewpoints 14-17 across the south east/east anglia.

Still very cautious though, plume events often turn out different to the forecast. Good luck to all those hoping for a storm.

Edit: Current thinking on NMM is storms to kick off late evening in France and then drift northwards.

Storms are already initiating along the front in France (say around Bergerac south) heading pretty quickly N at the moment

Hadn't looked that far south, but yes you are right a good amount of activity down there already!
