Aye and showers that develop will be slow moving and likely to deposit a fair amount of rain or small hail. Very humid and sultry evening to come, another 'sweatbed' for me again tonight.!!

Defo mate - would like to see something though -- the humidity is horrible mind could do with a few cooler nights!

''This Evening and Tonight:

Remaining daytime showers should ease into the evening to allow some late sunshine for many. An area of occasionally heavy rain is expected to spread northeast through the region overnight, becoming lighter from the south towards dawn. Minimum Temperature 16 Â°C.''

Wouldn't bet against parts of Wales, the West Midlands and the Cornish coast seeing some isolated thundery activity tonight. The GFS shows some modest CAPE values around these areas;

post-12721-0-54675500-1374685284_thumb.j

And some notable convective PPN;

post-12721-0-50819700-1374685323_thumb.j

along with some steep lapse rates;

post-12721-0-69566500-1374685350_thumb.j

Hit and miss, but the Meto invent radar shows pockets of quite intense PPN travelling NE through Wales and the SW overnight tonight;

along with HirLam;

The possibility is there IMO.

Hmmm. BBC still showing that Saturday potential for S/SE/E Anglia. Showed 2 scenarios, one run showing that it will clip Kent and East Anglia, however, the other going up from say Hampshire/Sussex poss E Dorset to the Wash Eastwards.

Net weather extra showing some lightning of the towards the south west. Perhaps the least potential shall provide the most entertainment excluding Notts of course who've had enough excitement for now.

As long as they are clear by 21.30 I'll be happy. I have the Ryanair Special to catch to Stansted at 21.45. They can get wet getting off the plane as long as I don't get wet getting on.

I think SW England S.Wales could see some isolated activity towards midnight but this will cool down and end up as heavy/thundery rain as it moves North.

NMM shows the rain band tonight as more an area of showery precipitation with some heavy pulses. I don't think some convective elements are out the question.

Storms North Midlands northwards tomorrow??? I'm sure Schaffernakka said that. As for the weekend stuff we severe was said which means they'll be little unless you live in Notts.
