Actually, there is a lot of snow incoming but will quickly turn to rain as the storm moves in. But for a good few hours some heavy snow.

This map clearly shows snow clumps out west before the bulk of the system approaches.

The heavy ppn shown on the radar looks as though its beginning to move round to the north of Glasgow, dammit!

Could be.....current conditions here in Helensburgh ...quite snowy.....big wet flakes...but lying quite well

Snowing in Edinburgh, albeit fairly lightly at the moment, but it looks like that big Cumulonimbus might just be heading our way...

On the train back to Glasgow from Edinburgh and can't see a thing in the dark! Was nice seeing the sudden change this morning from Glasgow out towards Falkirk. Been freezing and very windy in Edinburgh today. Stay safe during the rush hours everyone!

It has continued to snow at will here this afternoon - with near whiteoot conditions at times - and with temperatures hovering around 0ºC, very little melt. We now have 3 inches (7.5cm) of level snow lying.

The wind is getting up now - overnight could be lively. Currently 0.6ºC/1ºC.

A few more snaps attached showing the heavier stuff blanking out the landscape earlier on.

NMM for 6-7pm tonight (I'm assuming the time is for France since it usually is with meteociel). It gives us seconds as well:

Might have been on the same train as you.

A bitterly cold wind in Edinburgh with a mixture of sun and light snow showers. Linlithgow and polmont had dustings of snow but in Grangemouth there is little bits of white on some sheltered objects but mainly cold, wet ground. Dry just now with variable amounts of cloud. Not seen what the temperature or dew point is yet but I would imagine that anything which falls will be of snow and will settle as long as it is not too light

Don't despair just had a snowy shower here, must be on it's way to you November 13. It's still lightly snowing now (very light, snow equivalent of drizzle).

Got back to the port and there was snow lying even right down to the town level, more snow as I got further West (weird). Just got up the hill to house and there is about an inch and bit on the top of cars, now snowing as well. Ok so got my fix and am bored now :)

Had a short but intense snow shower just before 6, left a nice covering on all surfaces. Thought the temperature might be low enough for us to hold on to the snow cover but it melted within 15 minutes  :nonono: Now the roads and pavements are really wet - hope this doesn't stop further snow from lying.
