05.6C currently. I'm hoping the weather isn't too severe Tues-Thurs next week as I'll be in London and don't want to miss it here.

I think we could end up with a couple of ice days looking at next week in rural areas which will be a pleasant change.

Would be easier to achieve if we had some snow cover though..  :pardon:

Temperature down to 4c

Well, just a bit of drizzle in the air here. None of the gusty winds that others have had. I was hoping for better transition to the colder air than this. Oh well!

Rain/Snow over Exmoor now. Now the rain has past, all PPN behind it seems wintry.

I can quite believe it as temperatures have fallen like a stone already although we have until early evening now to wait for some real showers.

Maybe a few surprises yet in store for tonight..  :friends:

Seemingly this still applies.

All we need now is the precipitation over Ireland to maintain its intensity into Wales and slowly drift SE'wards by sundown time. Simples.

Might well be a 2-3 hour spell of inaction upcoming and then its a radar watch for a few isolated passing showers or perhaps something more prolonged.

AT 5.7c, DP 3.3c, Windchill 1.4c. Wind is yet to veer towards the NW or NNW in Newbury.

A relief to know that the colder weather is almost upon us. Lets hope Monday pans out and we get our rewards!

Squall just passed here, surprised to see things flying around the garden!

This morning has reminded me not to pay too much attention to precipitation charts - we were predicted 1mm of rain for both today and tomorrow combined, but I'm guessing we must have had at least 5mm already - some quite heavy bursts this morning.

Only dropped a two degrees here, still 8°C

The humidity has dropped, giving a dewpoint of 2.8°C - Wind chill on the Vue did register 0.4°C

Gotta change the battery later, not looking forward to taking it that down!

Fascinating morning to be outside working with the day dawning very mild and damp with showery light rain/drizzle, then without much warning (as the sky didn't change at all) a downpour around 09.30 was followed by clearer sky. I thought that had been the Cold Fronts passing, however it turns out it was just the 1st one as around 11.00 there were some gale force gusts of wind and another downpour as the 2nd and main Cold Front passed over. After this there was a cool display of Mammatus and there has been a notable drop in temperature.

Strange - Ian F tweeted that were no snow issues for west country thru to Sunday !

Looks like a classic uk wishbone of shower activity expected around coastal areas exposed to the north.

Stuff that have some of my valium sweety ...

Lol! I'll take anything to take the edge off... Knowing me I won't sleep properly until the cold spell is over as I'll be curtain twitching and model watching!

I'll just be twitching  :unsure2:  :blink2:

If we don't see a decent spell of snow from this cold spell you may need to book me into old wells mental hospital
