My friend in Bisley near Woking reported falling wet snow a little while ago, the netweather radar only shows a bit of sleet but nearly all rain

peak temperature of the day at -0.5c but most of the day stayed lower..

so far this winter i’ve witnessed (slight) freezing rain for the first time, seen snow the earliest in winter since i was a kid and had my first memorable december ice day. and this is all just the last few days!

here’s to more exciting weather hopefully throughout the winter to keep us entertained

A grey old day here in Redhill, now raining icy sleety type rain. Absolutely freezing out there too.

Same here - I could hear it hitting the metal bin lid.

Geting some wet snow flakes mixing in with the sleet here in Caterham-on-the-hill, temp 2C.

Freezing cold and rainy - stood on the front door step shivering, staring at the lamppost and trying to convince myself there is a flake or two mixed in

Struggled up to a high of 1c today. So no ice day here. The fog has tended to fade away this evening though.

Nothing more frustrating than cold rain when the conditions for snow are just on the wrong side of marginal. And for those looking at the radar it’s complete and utter guesswork at where the precipitation is forming and what direction it is heading

The area of rain and sleet over southern half of London and surronding counties seems to have moved very little over last hour, appears to be back-building from the south here in NE Surrey. But will it lower the temps through evap cooling? Didn't expect such a wet evening.

It seems likely to me areas NW of London like Bucks could see a nice little event air temperatures close to 0C and dew points also. Conditions a little off across London but namely maybe N/NW London could see help from evap cooling.

There's been snow in Reading sea level.

I'm just south of Reading here ...we had some sleet while I was out and about in the car an hour or so ago. Not surprised that some of the higher areas of Reading (Caversham way) saw some snow. (Reading is generally between 40 and 70m asl)

Wondering what the big clump of heavier precipitation to the east of the IOW might trigger in this neck of the woods later tonight.

Notorious SE London high spot shooters hill with what looks to be wintry precipitation now
