Cheers

Cold and wet with a bit of white thrown in

to be fair it could go either way… which I guess is why the Uk weather is so enticing to follow… can always throw up surprises

Just inside the warning area for snow Tuesday. I suspect it will be a higher level affair.. might see some wet slush first thing but snowline probably 300m. These events are tricky to forecast, evaporative cooling will be a key factor.

Perhaps of more interest tomorrow is a possibility of some more vigourous convection and large cumulonimbus developments in the afternoon as T500s drop to -35. A little lower than Saturday.

Expected todays wet weather to have already arrived here but still dry at the moment although looking at the radar, it’s due shortly.

As for some snow in the mix, we’ll soon see

The inhabitants of the Far north England regional will be the lucky ones tomorrow and even then on high ground...expecting lashings of horizontal cold sleety rain here.  Nasty weather

It’s arrived and for now at least it’s snow.

We'll let you class it as a snow day. No stewards enquiry. LOL

Looking at the radar there’s a short period of drier weather before some heavier stuff arrives but then hopefully a clearance to something brighter which may just salvage a few hours before dusk.

I really hate the lack of daylight at this time of year.

It's virtually non-existent isn't it, especially on days like today were the cloud base is so low.  Probably will clear after this squally bit's gone through post lunchtime, but like you said, there will only be a few hours left by then.

Cold front about to come through if it’s heavy enough it may turn to snow for awhile for the lucky few above 250. Hasn’t been heavy enough thus far for even my forecast last night to be close.

After this wind veers Westerly bringing a maritime layer and vigourous convection will soon build; this giving an afternoon of sunshine and heavy showers especially for the Cheshire gap. Expect hail, graupel, ice pellets and possible lightning.
