Correct me if I am wrong.

Could that mixture possibly mean..... Blizzards?

Or cold horizontal rain

Could be a few surprises for those at reasonable altitude and I’d be surprised if I don’t see at least a couple of hours of snow up here but the warning area follows a predictable pattern of covering much of Yorkshire whilst giving most of the northwest a wide berth so it’s a waiting game for the vast majority.

snow-forecast is looking good for us in the Peak District, Tuesday 6pm

Same for here but with a freezing level at 500m, I think it’s still touch and go whether it’s a full blizzard or a horizontal sleetfest.

Bleaklow will certainly be living up to its name though.

Not the best of days but after yesterdays deluge, it’s a massive improvement and looking at the forecast, probably a damn site better than what’s coming in the next week or so.

Disappointing weekend, far worse than the forecast was suggesting on Thursday. Showery day for yesterday became more of a washout and sunny spells for today never materialised.

Had a nice afternoon at Manchester Christmas market today not much wind and sunny intervals. Didn’t feel like a bad day to me.

Tuesday gets more interesting the more I look at it. Storm Barra looks like a beast. Seems to be an advection of dry cold ahead of the precip so the dew points are well down so freezing level not too important in this case.

Can anybody tell me how you can add people to your ignore list when viewing on your phone?

I need to cull people on the mod thread for my own sanity.

To be fair, the risk of low level snow is never that far away in the short to medium term in this setup, with temps remaining generally below average. It's impossible to be sure 2-3 days away at the moment, let alone 2 weeks! Last Sunday showed this.

Don’t agree.

I’ll buy you fish and chips if I get lying snow in the next 2 weeks!

I’ve block that guy who posts about day 16 GFS charts, so annoying and the isobar guy who talks in riddles.

That's fair enough! I certainly think falling snow is possible at lower levels at some point in the short to medium term, but as to whether there is lying snow is another matter of course.

Last winter I added more people onto the ignore list than I have ever.

Too many rear their heads during the winter season and for some reason disappear come March....yet they lurk......

Some come in just to wind people up all winter, reporting them doesn’t see to make a difference or even an acknowledgment.

I can help with this

Hit the home button.

Then hit the three horizontal bars ar the top right of the screen.

Hit account and you'll see ignored users.

Enter the name of the individual you've had enough of and breath.

The only issue is that I think the posts from hidden users still show if someone else quotes them,  but at least the site admin changed it in more recent times so that quoted posts are shrunk down and can be expanded if you want to read them. Saves having to endlessly scroll through.

I think chances is better if the next few runs shows the storm shifts further south. Maybe 50-100 miles south, that would drag in even colder temps/dews. Fingers crossed.   Got like 3-4 runs to go yet before Tuesday.

We'll see.

Just looked at updated netweather forecast for here… says 45 mm Monday/Tuesday… how much will be rain/sleet/snow? Anyones guess atm… if it is heavy surely evaporative cooling should come into effect but could just be cold and wet ?‍♂️

@WillinGlossop
Assuming you are exactly at 300 m, and going by the latest WRF:

two hours of snow tomorrow morning giving 1 cm accumulation briefly, melting and turning to rain. Yuck.
Tuesday, six hours moderate/heavy snow. 7.1 cm accumulation. This followed by light rain partially melting snow cover. Probably will all melt Tuesday night unless you have a frost.
