6c start to the day so feels fresher with blue skies a moderate  wind and a fewshowers to the west which have given Ben Wyvis a fresh dusting at the top.

Probably mainky a high ground affair for West Coast Scotland? 

A somewhat pleasant day here with glimpses of low sun. Currently 8.6C after a low of 4C and pretty calm. Looking much cooler from Mon afternoon onwards but it doesn't look like much in the way of snow despite that.

Currently 9.9c, up from an early hours low of 7.5c. The morning was fairly bright but then we had some drizzle blowing through as we took the dogs for a walk around midday. Now the Aberdeenshire Permagloom has set in once more and pressure has been steadily dropping from 1006.1 at midnight to 997.97 at the minute.

Having seen a bit of fresh snow on Wyvis this morning before the colder air of tnomorrow  I think we have reached the point in winter when the  high hills round us have snowfall nearly every day allowing for yesterday as an exception.. Would not be be surprised  next week to see a suprise overnight snow fall in the colder air next week even at our level.  Long term my opinion is that with big increase in Arctic Ice then the rest of winter has high chance   of cold and also even though I farm the spring also has  a high chance of being cold especially up here as it dissipates naturally across the northern hemisphere.  Northern Scotland springs always had a traditional bias to cold as we  are closest to the Arctic

Temperature high for today was 9.9⁰C at 14:19 up from a low of 5.9⁰C at 02:05, maximum humidity was 91% and minimum was 79%, wind generally 5 to 13mpg southerly with a maximum gust of 18mph, pressure around 994.2hPa steady, there was 0.6mm of rain today and in the last 24 hours, cloud cover was from 6/8 to 8/8 so it was mostly dull despite still being unseasonably warm.

A high of 6.9C after midnight and stayed above 6C until around 5am, from when it's dropped off rapidly to the current 1.1C. Still raining though, hopefully later/tomorrow that might change to some snow..

Morning Kilties! Hope the hangovers are all gone now! We had a very mild NY day at 15c and today we have clearing skies and the current temp is 3.8c, so it is noticeably chilly today! Will get out for a walk today at some point but with extra layers on to keep that nippy wind at bay!

Sleety aspect to what's falling now and definitely at least wet snow further up the hill. Looking as if it's trying to brighten up, so back end of the cold front probably clearing us now.

Well we’re not knee deep in the stuff but it beats 10 degrees and mild mush

Yes sky clearing to north here too after a wet early am and odd flakes of snow currently falling at 2.5c. Can see some snow showers away to the far north and  am expecting a ground frost to form as soon as sky clears overhead. Looks as though it will become a nice midwinters day. Will help me  get back into gear when its always a bit flat at this time of the year.

Yes light covering of snow here after early hours rain, brighter now but snow showers to the north west.  Good covering over higher hills.

I designated yesterday as a no alcohol day and a healthy eating day following days and days of debauchery, and, surprisingly, I stuck to the plan all day. Actually, it wasn’t difficult as I had ample reserves of food and drink on board after a family get together on New Year’s Day when I disappeared a load of assorted beers, wines and whiskies together with half a family sized steak pie, all of which I blame on the vast quantities of steroids I’m taking at the moment that fuel my appetite. Today I intend to continue with the plan. Abstinence makes the tum grow smaller.

Weather-wise, high temperature for today was 8.6⁰C at 01:03 sinking to 6.7⁰C at 11:35 and now back up to 7.2⁰C, humidity is 92%, wind is now 0 to 2mph westerly having swung round from southerly earlier and with a maximum gust of 22mph at 01:09, pressure is 996.0hPa rising slowly, there’s been 8.0mm of rain so far today and cloud cover is 8/8.

We're certainly in a cold, clear airmass now. Local weather station says 0.5C, going past it in car just now it said -1C, and car said -2C at the top of the hill (385m).

Bitterly cold walk with the dog as despite the sun being out I was in shade for most of it and there was a noticeable NWerly breeze. My earlier thoughts that it was snowing up the hill earlier were correct and there's a dusting lying.

I must have driven by @Northernlights spot on the way from Muir of Ord to Nairn for a beach walk with the pup. Some nice cloudscapes and a brisk 3c on the coast. Back home to Fife tomorrow after a nice, relaxing week up here.

Cooling down now at 1c with ground frost developing zwill be nice to see extremely muddy ground dried up a bit few photos from this  morning. Cawdor hills white down to 600feet  a shower crossing  the Firth and the last two the first of a few lines of snowshowers coming across the Firth just now which will probably gives us a covering by morning

Sitting here in Carrbridge awaiting the snaw. Already had a few wee flurries.

Meamwhile a pic and a vid of the upper Dulnain valley and Monadhliath Mountains with a wee dusting from behind the croft at Lethendrychule (57.26565470388197, -3.8389687242673842).

Windy and showery here for a time last night but it has been pretty much dry through the day with some brightness. Temp currently 3.0C.

Off to Crieff for a couple of days from tomorrow but not looking like we will get any snow there as the showers tomorrow look like they will peter out just to the North and Wednesday looks dry but cold. Thursday there looks like it will be a degree or so too high for snow but you never know?

Fine powdery snow falling at 0c. Just a big kid like seeing it  fall  during xmas holidays.

Wet start to the day but clearing quickly to a lovely afternoon of blue skies and lots of sunshine.

Temperature held up at 7c overnight but has been dropping constantly since 6am, now 0.9c and frost incoming.

Light winds and Bennachie still snow free - but for how long...

After a months wait, it snowed this morning. If the Met are on point, tomorrow looks like bringing high winds, snow with real feel temperatures of -7°c.

Collecting a few IBC cages from a local farmer tomorrow, hopefully the weather doesn't balls that up  

Currently dry and cold as the sunsets.

Early covering of snow this morning before heavier snow showers began to gang up later this afternoon bringing heavier driving snow on a brutally cold North westerly

Snow showers here at Muir of Ord but with no altitude (30m) it’s wet underfoot for now with snow accumulating on grass, cars, bins etc. Temperature 1c. The old wet baw conundrum!
