So now there’s absolutely no chance of snow…does anyone know when the sun might return to our patch?

This really is the worst kind of winter weather for me this week.

Wish I’d gone up a mountain while we had that inversion last weekend now!

Could head to the tops of the Peak District in search of a technical white Christmas.

It's really killing me that Vancouver, known for being one of the mildest spots in canada and my old home, is now looking a nailed on cert for a white xmas. Cold weather sweeping in xmas eve and at least a week of sub zero temperatures to follow. Makes you sick, meanwhile ive had my booster a couple of days ago, feel a bit naff and its 11c and grey outside. Someone cheer me up

Hi all, The flip flopping of the models over the last number of days have been interesting if anything, but I’ve now completely resigned to the fact they’ll be no wintry outcome over this Christmas period    But I’ll keeping the faith as we go into the New Year....as always

Merry Christmas to all

You never know when something will hopefully come up!  Will be taking a sneaky peak at 12z, 18z - 0z  and so on...❄️

Yes of course never say no to things changing  regarding having a peak if your a coldie that’s standard in any part of Winter, but it’ll be just the next Wintry outlook we’ll be looking for 240h plus methinks

Temperature rose to a heady 9.7.C after a foggy dawn of 5.0.

It seems that the models are very good at same old, same old, but struggle with mixed messages.

I’m still not convinced that the train will be cancelled, delayed a few days perhaps, probably due to the wrong type of snow…

Additional to my last. In the time it took me to compose and send the previous message, the temperature dropped half a degree.

Strange.

GEM has snow widely across the Midlands on Boxing Day, and even for me in London.

If anyone should know snow, it’s those Canadians

18z GFS expands the snow risk across N Midlands, but looks transient.

Maybe! Colder than previously forecast here tomorrow:

We have seen some short term developments over the years so I guess if everything just happens to fall into place.

If nothing happens, so be it. No sleep lost.

Happy Christmas eve all!

Fingers crossed, met office showing 50/50 chance of snow showers increasing to 70/80%

over 10 hours, so most of day. Id rather be radar watching then watching christmas day repeats haha

come on, just need to see a flake or two

You've definitely got a reasonable chance, not out the game like anywhere outside of the pennines or snowdonia range!

I am with you BC..

Keep the faith.

We could still see a famous Xmas turnaround.

Boxing Day more likely.

Currently out with the dog.

Feels very mild.

It’s very very muddy.

There’s actually swarms of gnats around.

But

The cloud is a lot thinner today and there was even a glimpse of blue skies.

Torrential rain all afternoon and evening so far down in London. Santa’s sleigh will be soggy!

Have a good Christmas, everyone!

Rain started here late afternoon and continuing.

Watching it turn to sleet and snow now north of Matlock on the RADAR..
