it really is but it would be nice to have some rain at night to make the sleeping easier

I'm more worried about the flowers in my garden.

Interesting morning hot but alot more hazy. Wandering if it will go bang later or if we are again to far east

We’ve got that claggy cloudy post storm sort of morning, without having had the storms 🙄. Nice comfortable temperature though.

Yep I remember I used to live in Croydon, but only had a yard at the time. But it was very limescaly on the kettle.

Guess the song ...

Over the past few years
To the traditional sounds of the English summer
The drone of lawnmowers
The smack of leather on willow

… Has been added a new noise..

What were the skies like when you were young?
They went on forever and they, when I, we lived in Arizona
And the skies always had little fluffy clouds in them and, er
They were long and clear and ...

Whats sad she says ..you don't see that anymore ..:(

After reaching 25.5c at around 8am! it has levelled out at around 22 - 24c today, much more pleasant than yesterday and an exciting development over the water which i hope to see build this way later!

Coming home an hour or so ago from Dover, could see the tops of the clouds now giving the rain over Crawley way.

For now though, here at least, perfect!

Mixed skies around Surbiton this afternoon after a very hot morning with a thin layer of cloud aloft. Looks like the cell just north of Crawley is thinking about heading this way, but much clearer elsewhere.

Edit: heavy rain now.

Another edit: huge heavy raindrops, smell of petrichor and two rumbles of thunder, then a big flash of lightning and a cracking rumble across the sky ⛈️

Perfect day today, sitting out on the garden listening to the birds chattering away, at least six different calls to, not including sea gulls crows or pidgins.

All the action now well west/NW of London. We caught a heavy shower and a few rumbles from the edge of it around 4pm in Grayswood.

We were so close to the storms could smell the petrichor but other than almost continuous rumbling thunder all we got here was a few spits of rain, so frustrating as garden is crying out for a good soaking. A triangle from Aldershot to Woking and down to Guildford somehow managed to have the storms go completely around us. 😤😤
