Aye looking at the radar it should arrive here in the next few minutes although looking at the colours, it seems to be weakening as it heads towards the Pennines.

could do with a bit of rain myself to help the grass seed I put down last weekend.

We've had a couple of torrential showers here since mid afternoon, but no lightning or thunder. I don't things are going to spark here unfortunately.

Mmm not the best of days but by no means a washout. Dull skies in the main bits of rain but nothing sustained. A rather annoying day in many respects. A cool breeze as well.

Thanks for sending us this rain guys and for 'lowering' the pennine rain shield, my Sunflowers and Red robbins are most grateful, made in Lancashire and deposited in Yorkshire

Your welcome we certainly get our fair share over here in the sopping wet NW rainforest. Can guarantee the snow shield will be in full operation over your side come winter though blocking the snow getting over.. the Holme moss transmitter the likely suspect all the while you are knee deep in the white stuff. Anyone would think we have a long chain of Mount Everest's to our east given how effective these hills are

'The hill' does act like a pumped up Rockies mountain range, 'small hill' syndrome perhaps and the transmitter is the all seeing eye, watching over the Roses

Kasim did an interesting piece on the reasons why the Pennines act like they do as different wind directions give different results, SE wind the most rubbish. He's a smart lad. He won't be back on here until winter though - he's in Kasim's cavern sorry Poole's cavern in Buxton hibernating until then in all seriousness I enjoy his posts he's one of the most knowledgeable on here.

Yeah he pops into the Yorkie thread when snow potential is inbound, seems to know his onions, have seen some of his U-tube stuff from when he was interviewed by local news, knowledgeable lad

Forecast is for a pretty much dry day across the region and there’s no rain showing on the radar but up here it looks like it could hammer it down at any moment.

Maybe it’s just the lingering effect of last nights rain and will clear as time goes on but it’s not the best start to the day.

A bit of drizzle in the air here. With no wind and plenty of dampness, the washing isn't going to dry on the line. The ceiling fan in the conservatory is now blowing down on two maidens full of washing. It does get warmer in there even with little or no sun so at least its getting dried with a far less power hungry appliance.

An uninspiring damp drizzly morning here with low cloud sat on the tops and, looking at the forecast, little signs of things improving at least until towards the evening.

Yep a bit meh today...some glimpses of sunshine but mostly thick grey cloud.  We're in a NW/SE split at present but luckily it's not bringing bucket loads of non-stop rain, just making the sun a bit shy.

We've gone from the laughable Daily Express Jubilee 'Scorcher' to nagging north easterly cool winds for the Queen's 4-day jolly at the start of June...something tells me it's a long way from being resolved.

As usual the SE corner nicking the warm sunny weather. Shame we've not had more sun today as it would've got into the low 20s. Bang on 19C here currently and that's under this stubborn cloud. Next few days looking cool, especially Tuesday to Thursday with a fresh breeze blowing it won't feel like almost June. Probably around 14C at best.

A miserable day here so far. Pulses of light sometimes moderate rain, just when you think its stopped at last it comes back! Low cloud shrouding everything and very dank. Current temp a poor 14.5 degrees. Definate marked NW-SE split. Cumbria in the worse place today especially southern parts, the dreaded SW flow!

Was nearly a miserable day here to.⚽️?City.

Was nice and sunny in Derby and whilst driving on A38 towards M1,the Lancaster flew low over me then backed right. Unexpected but fantastic.

Back home in Hadfield, the Clouds look threatening this evening.

Afternoon folks. First of all well done to City fully deserved, what a team you have and would be a shame if rumours were true about Gundogan possibly leaving because he's a top player, although Pep has clarified these rumours to be false and imagine what it'll be like when Haaland plays too. Klopp will probably be a bit worried. The gap might not be just 1 point!

I think you'll win the CL eventually but surprising it's not happened yet. I think City can switch off a little at times though which you can't do in the latter stages of the tournament and teams like Real can pounce on that. Hate their horrible fickle fans though and their anti English sentiments so hope Liverpool win it.

On to the weather and a bit disappointing today, a bit of rain earlier and cool. Probably a bit more sun tomorrow mixed with showers but a breeze picking up so probably feeling even cooler.

So far up here it’s been one of those rare days that works out better than the forecast.

a few spots of rain at times but nothing to wet the ground and although we’re not under the warmest of air masses, it felt pleasant enough in the sunshine.

Hopefully I haven’t jinxed it but it’s time for a couple of hours in the garden.

Much better day than yesterday. Stayed mostly dry just one or two very shortlived light showers that barely wet the ground. A rather chilly feel though especially in the breeze and cloud, limited bright spells but very useable.

I was initially predicting a much more organised band of showers moving across the region around midday today - as it is as the moment they are very few and far between and spotty in nature.

But looking a little more in the way of unsettled generally tomorrow AM.

Another day that ended up better than the forecast here.

a few showers this morning but increasingly drier and sunnier as the day went on and although not warm, decent enough in the sunshine.

as already said, tomorrow is looking wetter although hopefully things turn drier again afterwards with a decent end to the week and dry weekend to follow.

certainly not heatwave conditions but plenty of usable weather on the cards.

Lost count of the number of days where it’s been rain/showers/cloudy over the last few months when the sun has come out at 5/6pm…

pretty heavy showers first thing… brighter in Mossley and Denton this afternoon…

quick spaghetti Bolognese for tea…

counting down to Sunday to fly to Menorca for two weeks ? ☀️ warning for thunderstorms there tonight/tomorrow with large hail… was 36c there Sunday
