Excellent growing weather as others have said, we have not quite reached the stage in the season when things go into seed and we traditionally see growth weaken, but not far off. Alas the plants and grass are loving these downpours and cool conditions at present. Was looking a rather dry June, but the last few days and tonight/tomorrow have put pay to that.

A bit of a better day than the last 3, temps have at least resembled something more expected at this of year, nearly 18 degrees, still below par, we should be recording about 20 degrees on average, it is July in two days..

Tonight could bring some appreciable rain here, and tomorrow could also deliver more hefty downpours. A slow drying up on the cards we end the week, but not until Sunday before we see any lengthy drier conditions. Will go down as a poor summer week.

Trees being cut down woohoo ?? from next door… what we came back to on patio

Yes Rush cooked lovely satay… could eat satay sauce all day everyday

Had a few downpours eventually mostly after 330pm…

Downpours of the alcoholic variety after 3.30pm?

Getting my first thunderstorm of the year here. Started off with a couple of flashes about five minutes apart and no thunder. Now getting frequent flashes followed by rumbles a few seconds later. Strangely nothing showing up on the radar though. Nice to hear a bit of thunder and see a bit of lightning, shame it had to come at 2:30 am when I want to sleep though lol.

You can't beat having a good storm at night though, lightning is visible so much further away than the daytime as well.

A bright start here and hardly a breath of wind. An interesting forecast for today with a risk of thunderstorms later. If anyone is lucky enough to catch one, it'll be slow moving.

I drove towards that storm when I headed into Nantwich last night and heavens opened for a while. Still raining at 11pm. Nothing thundery.

Wettest place in the UK yesterday was St Bee's Head in Cumbria.

Bright morning but muggy, and steam coming off the local green at 7.30am suggests showers to come.

Yes, on my break and there's a  few towers going up.

Had a little rain last night, but missed most of the showers yesterday, so in theory maybe a better chance today...and with at least 3 days of notable heavy and perhaps thundery showers (yesterday, today and tomorrow) surely a decent one will lay siege at some point for most of us.

Looks a bit flat for the region this afternoon. Most of the oomph seems to be further south. A lot of places could be dry this afternoon unless the dynamics change. Not looking good if you like thunderstorms during at least the first part of July

This just passed over Macc. Produced a heavy rain shower, no initial convective blobs and weirdly no wind with it at all, however skies to my NW look black.

The sky has looked quite threatening at times this afternoon, but all we've had so far are a couple of slow moving light to moderate showers. Lightning activity doesn't look to have been particularly amazing anywhere across the UK today so far to be fair.

There's still a lot of speckled activity to our south & they are slowly moving north.  Painfully slow progress though.

Winds turn onshore any time now so that’ll prevent anything I think. Was hoping to have at least seen some showers by now.

Wind has swung NWly and increased here. Should be some cracking storms over the West Midlands over the next few hours due to convergence.

Yep Met office and BBC did forecast W Mids has a sweet spot and lots of clusters popping off like firecrackers just now.  East Wales/Eng Border in the firing line too.  Maybe a few scraps will survive the journey up to the North West but most of the energy will have been snuffed out by then most likely.

Look at the big gap over NW England. Couldn’t make it up. That’s what an on shore wind does.

Well, just had prolonged second shower of the day as the cell from the stoke passed over, more interesting this time, became a bit windy as it neared and oppressive.  Some interesting structure to.  First pic is it moving NW over Macc.  Pockets of Mammatus in its rear.  Alas no sferics.

Some parts of Sheffield undergoing a 2hr heavy rain dumping right now according to the radar....wonder if there are flash flooding issues over the Pennines.

Surprisingly stayed dry so far tofay after early heavy showers. Temps warmed up appreciably through latter part of afternoon and we are still on 20 degrees. A decent last day of June.

July - here we come!

Looks very dark not far to the SE. Not surprising looking at the radar places like Stalybridge under a bright echo.
