Think looking at the radar it is heading more in line in between Skegness and Boston

If we get a decent clearance here behind the front then there's a possibility of seeing some lightning way off into the far distance as the storms move over Peterborough and The Wash due to my height elevation advantage, from past experience it's been possible to see lightning illuminating the tops of CBs from here as they've headed over East Anglia but it just depends on how clear the skies will be in a hour or two from now.

Agreed, there`s to much local cloud around E Brum atm to see any flashes from over Leicester way

Yes just had one screaming overhead here.

Had quite a few flashes coming up from the S/SW though no thunder heard

Still over the top of us, still constant sheet lightning with a few forks. Now with gusty winds to boot. Should be moving away soon.

Shortly after I stopped filming this there was a strike ~600m away

I'm happy with Tonight

Currently watching flights try and fail to land at Gatwick on Flightradar while waiting to see my first distant flashes out the window

I think it'll just be mostly heavy rain. Was only infrequent lightning and a couple of 'wet' sounding thunder here.

The IR Satellite does look promising, with the clearance in a line from Manchester down to Cardiff at the moment, i'm debating if it's worth heading out either to the Upper Goyt or Holme Moss just for the extra height advantage but for now it's just a 'wait and see' approach.

Southampton ferry terminal this evening.  Not the best shot but when the good stuff was happening it was way to wet to get out of the car !
