Today is legitimately the first day when it has actually been sunny and stayed that way into the afternoon! Rather warm too at 18.2C.

Yesterday was the first day to record 10 hours of sun since 14th September. That must be the longest ever wait between 2 such days?

 danm there was no zoom! An entire blanket appeared BUT has actually dispersed since into smaller clouds lol

Was expecting a cloud up by now in Swindon, so this is a pleasant surprise. Warm enough for t shirt too.

 SunSean You’re being plagued by cloud going up the east coast and I’m being plagued by cloud up the west coast.

Sunny intervals though and although windy, the air is quite warm.

 Frigid I remember August 2009 well. It was often sunny but I felt cold almost of the time

20c in London at the moment, at Northolt. Wasn't expecting a day as nice or as warm as this at the start of the week.

Well it was very nice here, unexpectedly so, until around 15.30.

Through the day there was a mass of cloud out to the west, but it wasn't moving any closer.

There was also another area of cloud to the east, further away, and that too was moving very little. Shown on that satellite picture above quite clearly.

All of a sudden though the cloud to the west has  started advancing in (without warning) - so I guess that's it now for sunshine - oh well, it was nice while it lasted!

Quite odd in a way as I thought the synoptics were showing more of an easterly developing mid week, with systems moving in from the east - yet the system to the west seems to be the one making the biggest push at the moment.
