Radar has the band dead centre over Chelmsford at 22.35Z according to the predictive radar. Not convinced as it is slightly pivoting.

From past experience of these set-ups, they tend to degrade and break-up as they pass through Essex. You need the instability we are benifiting from to set-up in the lower North Sea, and set off a Thames streamer. The direction look right, if you can get some convection going!

Just run the NW radar animation, looks likely to be a close call for here, area's further north should be good if it keeps together.

This "shower" has already lasted almost an hour...and we still have LOADS to come...infact latest radar confirms it has intensified and grown even more in last 15 mins. Good stuff!

Anyone able to tell me why all the good weather misses Norwich, we've only had a few cm, all the weather coming off the N.Sea either misses us or dies before reaching us. It always happens like this, the winter storm last year covered the whole country but we got nothing and the Snow on Tuesday came down the country and when it reached us it moved west, headed south and then came back up as far as Suffolk and once again nothing for Norwich.

Any ideas?

:good: 2130 Radar is very encouraging for us!

The Shower is expanding on its eastern edge and convection is firing in the Blackwater Estaury, so if it holds together we should get some part of it! :good:

Ipswich has had over an inch in an hour still very heavy at the moment plus looking in to the north sea their seems to be a thunder storm possible out there as well

I'll admit I haven't looked into the models for tomorrow after today's disappointment for EA. I think it's a case for 'nowcasting' and watching the radar. Certainly potential from the fax charts.

I'm keen on Sunday and Monday though, but a long way off still wacko.gif

That big snow shower over Suffolk looks headed straight nor NE London! Hope it doesnt change track or fizzle out. We've hardly had anything here today.
