Angry looking clouds looking to my south here over the water, maybe some real torrential showers to come!

Can report a nice storm starting here

Real deep booms of thunder :) a couple per minute

Was going to say i'd be amazed if that lot stuck between Manchester and Liverpool was not giving thunder, it seems to be intensifying on the Eastern side too.

Keep an eye on the cell gone up on southern side of the Humber, could turn severe given wind shear aloft.

Just posted the exact same thing on Ukww Nick!

Very fast Intensification on this cell, as Nick says could be the Storm of the Day.

Seems like a typical sunshine and heavy showers day, showers well scattered and not really holding well as they travel.

Perhaps that Northants one can hold to Leicester?

Little cluster of downpours rapidly intensifying Sussex way too - heading N/NNW, could be one to come very close to me!!

Things are exploding across the UK at the moment - awesome!!

Plenty more downpours/storms over NW France heading in a NE direction too...I look forward to things getting a bit darker later - could be a good night to be outside trying to spot flashes!

More cloud breaks and some sun here in Wiltshire. I actually expected to have seen a little more by now, no showers here at all today. Also surprised not to have seen more actvitity across the UK by now. Got peak heating just approaching though so hopefully something soon. Has looked thundery from time to time here today.

Thing is Dave we seem to be in the middle of a large 'little or no action' zone. Just a few short sharp showers in Warminster.

I think this is due to the Cold Front being not too far East of us, if you look at the radar there is little activity in

quite a wide swathe stretching from South-North and to the West of where that Cold Front is.

Further West and there are heavy downpours moving NNE and of course others are firing/moving along the front.

Ideally we need the front to move East so that the unstable air to our West can be tapped into, however as stated by Nick F in

the other thread it's being held up by what's moving up out of France and grazing the East coast.

Something approaching MK i think, sky to the SW is getting really dark. Few spots of convective rainfall on and off aswell.

Those few in South West England and moving into South Wales seem to be developing and a couple of sferics have been detected, also getting some reports of loud thunder from the South Wales area.

Are you viewing the radar?

Nothing is moving West it's all heading N/NNE! And any backbuilding will stretch to the SSW from the cells!
