Anyone around from Tyne and Wear? Looks like some pretty heavy showers and a few sferics around there at the moment.

If you want to check that here's the maths to do so:

Five factors are taken into account with any task to allow us to calculate its RSL-value, the Sod’s Law rating.

Urgency (U), complexity ©, importance (I), skill (S) and frequency (F) are scored between 0 and 9.

How to calculate the Sod's Law Rating of a task:

Rate the urgency, importance and complexity of the task on a scale of 1 to 9 and add these figures together.

Rate how skilled you are at the task. Subtract this from 10.

Multiply your answers to steps 1 and 2 together and divide by 20.

Rate from 1 to 9 how frequently you perform the task and divide this by 10.

Calculate the sine value of your answer to step 4 (you’ll find this a ‘sin’ on most calculators) and subtract this from 1.

Divide 1 by your answer to step 5.

Finally, multiply your answer to step 3 by 0.7, and then multiply this by your answer to step 6. Voila - you have your Sod’s Law rating.

The closer to 10 it is, the higher your risk of falling victim to Sod’s Law.

Of course, by the time you’ve twice got as far as step 5 to then forget a vital number, started again only to get up to the beginning of step 7 when the batteries in your calculator run out the urgency rating of your original task has probably gone up much more!

Now where were we :whistling:

Me thinks its time to subscribe to netweather features as strike display is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Apparently its raining here using sd paid subscription and has 22 mins remaining. Unless my eyesight is going there is nothing falling nor does it look like its going to

Where for???? France!!!

Lol..true..ye know its amazing so it is there is only a few hundred miles that seperate the UK from the Continent and yet there it seems to be the perfect breeding ground for storms.

We havent had a storm here since May 2006 yet we were in Paris last year for a week and seen 6 seperate storms..4 in the one day..where's the justice in that...

Now with all our luck with storms we would get to the ferryport and find out all silings cancelled due to storms on the french coast!!!!!!

I can see occasional lightning to my SE now, fairly distant. Quite a near miss really. I can also see the double rainbow, makes for quite a good view!

No thunder here but we did have a couple of minutes of small hail at the back edge of a shower at 1810 g.m.t.

The first hail in June since 2007.

Going by Isolated Frost status, I've missed out on all the fun and games it seems. Only heard a crack of thunder and didnt see any lightning myself but looked a very good thundery shower none the less.

Oh well, I'll live.

..............

A few hundred miles from the continent ?? Down here on the South Coast I can see the French coast on a clear day, a distance of about 35 miles. The distance to the continent from Dover is even less, approximately 25 miles. Not sure where you get the 'few hundred miles' from, unless you mean from Scotland to the continent.
