33.2c here now. Scorchio!, especially for my coastal region. Clear blue skies and a nice off shore breeze, which feels super heated!. Humidity @ 50%

Hot and humid breeze here also. In the sun it feels terribly humid.

WOW torrential downpour here at work in Consett, heaviest rain i've seen in the UK for a long long time. Occasional lightning and plenty of thunder, a couple of close strikes aswell.

Very nice just frustrating to be stuck in work.

Not true at all...if the cap breaks and there is still a sufficiently solid dry layer around the storm, precipation leaving the cloud can evaporate before reaching the ground.

i thought that was the case!!!! glad you said that! i realise im beginning to get jist of this after years trying to figure storm systems out! lol!

that milky sky is turnin into a sunny sky now.. but feels cooler outside.... think game is up for wiltshire? well always next time tho

Are you sure on both counts?

To me it's more uncomfortable and sultry than yesterday! Despite the current 22.1c as opposed to high 20s! LOL.

Also how can it possibly be 'game up' before 15.00! Showers are over Hampshire, Dorset, the Channel and France and all heading in a N/NE

direction, any of them could turn thundery even though this mornings MCS decayed.

For other areas : the storms in the NE show how quickly they can develop in favourable conditions and, if reports of clouds forming in the London

region are correct, then explosive development could occur in that area soon.

Check the area of NW tip of france http://meteox.com/h....&soort=satradar, i think this is what Torro are looking at but i could be wrong.

Looks like most of that will miss most parts of the south coast and if kent are lucky it might just get them.

So boring with heavy cloud and light rain here. Very very humid though.

Hmmm. Not feeling confident about anything just at the moment. On the plus side, the sun is back out, it's still very humid, and the temperature is on the rise again.

What is a CU Field? :cc_confused:

Its gone all cloudy now though.

Small Cu's (cumulus'), like a field of sheep.

There were a scattering of small blobs on the satellite earlier, which resembled (but I couldn't be sure) a Cu field. After the heat and humidity have arrived, this is the next stage before storms fire. Next we need these to start towering, then if they get large enough (or the cap gets eroded by other means) they'll burst up and rapidly evolve into a Cb.

Almost constant thunder with a few splashes of rain now! Pretty loud considering its not over head yet! Rubbish pictures though because of the hazy skies.

Plenty of distant thunder in Cleadon now- just as well that I took photos of the cloud as it started to approach, for now I can't see it as the strengthened easterly surface winds are bringing in lots of "haar".

I don't mind the climate of the North East as a whole- just the coastal stuff!

Those Northumberland torrential storms have come out of nowhere in the last hour - to be the most intensive rain on the high scale radar. Amazing.

Spot on Harry although I'd say it's more of a Cu layer than field. No breaks in this cloud at all. Just need to hope it doesn't affect solar heating too much.

Away from the North East it looks like the curse of the humdingers may strike again. They just ain't firing up up despite some very high temps. Temps on the way down now and light rain falling.

Absolute snore fest in the Midlands today in terms of storm activity. Can't see it changing today tbh.
