Still raining and I think it will stay like that much of this year now no doubt.

Giving the setup how can Merseyside get snow and west cumbria doesn't? the mind boggles

Strange isn't it? I wonder if there is some sort of cold undercut?

Light rain here now...

Yes it is getting heavier, I'd expect that the road summits at Deerplay and Sharneyford are starting to turn white by now.

Nothing settling down here though.

Hi, snowing here in Newton le Willows, big flakes, but not sticking because the ground is too wet.

Light rain here but there us heavy precipitation just to the west of Manchester so it may turn to wet snow when it gets here shortly.

After half an hour of light rain there are now huge snowflakes in Warrington. Given the low altitude < 30 metres, places with higher elevation inland may get quite a fall.

That said it looks like it's snowing quite heavily, some of the flakes are 2 inch clumps, but when actually outside there is a lot of rain in it.

Rain then sleet in heavier bursts. Pitty that's good as it will get. Hey ho anything we get between now and end of March will be a bonus anyway.
