Tuesday 27 Dec - Thursday 5 Jan

On Tuesday, strong winds, cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle will spread eastwards across much of the UK. The heaviest rain will be in the west with drier conditions perhaps spreading to the north later. Temperatures are expected to become increasingly mild through the day. For the rest of the period, changeable weather conditions are likely across most parts of the UK. Showers or longer spells of rain are expected across many regions, with the heaviest rain in the west and some snow across Highlands of Scotland. These unsettled conditions will likely be interspersed by drier and brighter spells. Temperatures will be variable, but overall, they will most likely be close to or slightly below normal, with a lower chance of mild conditions.

Friday 6 Jan - Friday 20 Jan

Confidence remains low into mid-January. There is a signal for generally settled conditions, although some periods of wet and windy weather are still possible and with this will come the chance of snow. Temperatures are likely to be around or a little below normal, with colder conditions perhaps developing again by mid-January.

So, a mixture of wet, dry, cold and mild (plus everything in between) kinda sums things up then? At least they're honest!:santa-emoji:

The 3 month has gone.If you take might, possibly, could, confidence, low ectout of the report not much tangible on offer.Countryfile forecast normally goes until Wednesday then we told look for updates this is a weekly .Local TV can't forecast accurately sometimes 12 hours ahead,as a gardener I speak from bitter experience. In summary,I read this week that the provision of our weather data is 98.7 million pounds, good value for money

Wednesday 28 Dec - Friday 6 Jan

On Wednesday, unsettled conditions will continue bringing cloud to most parts with some areas of rain, heaviest over western hills and the potential for showers in the far northwest. East and southeastern areas will be drier, however some rain here is still probable. Windy conditions are likely, with gales affecting western and southern coasts. Towards the end of the week, unsettled weather will remain with spells or rain and showers, interspersed with shorter, drier interludes. At the end of the year, uncertainty is high, although the most probably scenario is changeable conditions, with rain, and some snow at times in the north, interspersed with colder, brighter spells. Temperatures will be variable, but overall, they will most likely to be close to or slightly below normal.

Saturday 7 Jan - Saturday 21 Jan

Confidence remains low into mid-January. There is a signal for generally settled conditions, although some periods of wet and windy weather are still possible and with this will come the chance of snow. Temperatures are likely to be around or a little below normal, with colder conditions perhaps developing again by mid-January.

Nothing overly cold on the latest update from the beeb with the exception of the north over the weekend, otherwise 2022 is going out on a mild note for most

These met office updates are a total waste of time, firstly Nobody believes them and secondly why do they bother even compiling them? All it does is feed people nonsense and then they get rideculed for getting the forecast wrong   😂

Thursday 29 Dec - Saturday 7 Jan

On Thursday, variable cloud with blustery showers, these most frequent in the west and along southern coasts, but also some sunny spells. Some heavy rain possibly lingering across parts of Scotland. Chance of some wintriness over higher ground. Gusty conditions likely, with some gales possible across central UK for much of the day. Friday and Saturday, conditions will generally be unsettled with spells or rain/showers, interspersed with shorter, drier interludes. In the new year, conditions are expected to be changeable, with rain/showers most frequent in the west and northwest and drier conditions further east and southeast. Any snowfall will be restricted to Scottish mountains. Temperatures are likely to be mild in the south, and more changeable in the north.

Sunday 8 Jan - Sunday 22 Jan

Confidence remains low into mid-January. The weather is likely to remain changeable with some spells of wet and windy weather, especially in the north. There is an increased likelihood of longer dry periods, especially towards the east and southeast. Temperatures are likely to be mild at the start of the period, although brief cold spells from the north and the northwest are possible.

Bar a bit of snow late Sunday and Monday in parts of Scotland, it's generally looking mild as we end 2022 and head into 2023 perhaps very mild for a time next weekend in the London area.

Friday 30 Dec - Sunday 8 Jan

Probably dry across many areas at first on Friday, but showers that could be locally heavy at times likely to spread from the southwest throughout the day, and some risk of hill snow. Windy conditions likely, with gales possible across higher ground and towards the coasts. Temperatures close to the seasonal average. Weather remaining changeable into the New Year, with rain and showers most frequent in the west and northwest. Increased likelihood of longer dry periods as well, most likely towards the east and southeast. Any snowfall will be restricted to Scottish mountains. Mild in the south for the later part of the period, whilst the north sees a mixture of milder and colder spells.

Monday 9 Jan - Monday 23 Jan

Confidence remains low into mid-January, though most likely scenario is for changeable weather to continue. Mild at first but briefer cold spells from the north and northwest are possible at times, which would bring heavy snow showers to the north. Increased risk of overnight frosts. A trend back towards milder, wetter weather is most likely following this.
