This is the most boring spell of weather, 5 days of no sunshine whatsoever, not even a breeze, and temps fluctuating between 10-11c day and night. Its the perfect example of 'no weather'.

Sounds like the full package! It's amazing how your most desired weather alters depending on where you live and what you're used to.

it would be fine if it was a once a year scenario..when you live in a cold winter climate ..it grates on you pretty quick..like having incessant rain back home

RAMP -

If we still see something remotely like this into a 'reliable' timeframe..... ❄️

image.thumb.png.2341dc60be5c8121142a5ae0ca1155a2.png  Cold towards Christmas, then what?

Then nice for those who like that kind of thing  But considering 85% of the posts in the main output thread, I don't think this can be called a ramp.

I'm not entirely serious but I also think if you posted something like that chart (unreliable as they are) in the main thread I would also expect 85% replies explaining how this is not going to happen...

I'm going with it anyway, no harm in hoping we see some snow around the 24/25th... odds always seem stacked against us!

Lots of excitement over on the models thread but in the here and now the weather is still depressingly mild and drab.  The only good thing about this (from my point of view anyway) is that it's not a repeat of 2013's stormfest.

Not the most interesting of weather patterns for the time being. Next week is looking good though.

The models can barely forecast snow correctly on the day of the event on this island, let alone pin point locations 7 days in advance.

The fact that snowy xmas day scenarios are being modeled should be good news at this point.

Well....some interesting charts today for the Christmas period, especially if you’re a coldie. Will it be an epic white Christmas.....or will there be an epic, teddy throwing meltdown?  Looks colder for C Europe next week, anyway.   Hopefully an end to the grey tedium , at least.

Talk of Armegedon type scenarios in the 'Mad' thread, does seem a bit dramatic

Well, living in the snow starved south of England, I class a snow depth of 2 inches to be huge as everything grinds to a halt!

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
