just woke up about 30mins ago to some heavy rain but now it's all clearing, hoping the cloud at least goes away though I really wished the wind would pipe down!

Temp now 3 but all precipitation has ceased.

That's because our bit of the puzzle is missing ,usually if it's cold enough then there is no precipitation; if we have precipitation it's not cold enough especially in Kent more than most unless it's a NE Or bang on easterly but even that can be dry cold air hoping the north Sea can be a friend instead of foe ,just an example ..our good friends Polaris and minus 10 in welwyn got snow *I'm not sure how high it is * but I couldn't really  get much more height in Kent than where I was and I saw odd white flake ,more exciting was little hail or ice pellets bouncing off the ground ..WGC is not a million miles up north but it seem to be in  the magical marginal sector ,Un like me lol

About 100m height TN9 but we do sometimes get a bit of unexpected snow here. Certainly didnt expect the intensity and size of flakes today. Nice to see in this snow dry winter...

So far this morning, wind, rain, rain and wind, squally heavy hail, closely followed by more wind and rain. Hoping it clears through soon as dogs only got a 15 minute 'do your business and hurry up' walk and would quite like to go for a long run and more sniffy walk soon.

Chucking it down here now, quite windy at times, and a coldish 9°c.

Definitely an indoor hobby day with feet up, read a book or watch the TV.

Wind was a lot worse than forecast, could hear fences banging during the early hours!

I would've taken some pics but the clouds weren't bubbly enough here for me to have an interest to take any, just a few fast passing showers with the strong wind

Cheeky little frost this morning on the cars this morning(got down to 0.8 this morning) in Locksbottom. Was lovely and sunny till about 2 but then the cloud rolled in and was cloudy for the rest of daylight hours.Looks to be relatively mild now for next couple days but dry but Thursday looks damp and a little cooler and then cooler still for Friday and Saturday with daytime temperatures down to 5-7 for these two days.Still the search for a snowflake continues and looks like it will be another very disappointing winter in terms of snowfall. It seems the strength of the PV has overridden all the other factors that seemed positive back in November for a colder than average winter which seemed possible.

Working outside for a living I have seen bees flying around for two weeks now and saw my first butterfly of the season which is the earliest I have ever seen one in 18 years of doing my job.Worrying times tbh in these times of CC

Evening all - lots of great sunset photos again!

Had some soggy snow for a very brief time on Friday before reverting to sleet, then rain.   Quieter today after a windy weekend with wind speeds in the high 30's.   Sunny day with today's max temperature 10.2°C recorded at 8pm this evening, after an overnight low of 1.6°C.  Currently 10°C  with 87% humidity.  Wind today mainly from a WSW direction with top gust of only 23mph.  Pressure currently 1024.5hPa steady and no rain has fallen today - having said that we've had 8.6mm of rain in the first six days of February against a total of 14mm for the whole of January.

Couple of photos to show how mild January and the beginning of February have been.  The blossom is from a large shrub in my front garden on 27th January (glorious lemon sherbet scent) and we've already had a lot of bee activity.  The other photo was taken yesterday in a local  west facing but unsheltered garden.

went for my "walk" as i say going to my style relaxing and although the sun has warmth to it, when it goes behind the cloud my hands turned into icicles (this is with me still wearing my winter set with thick coat, scarf and hat). So i wouldn't say it's outdoors relaxing weather for me yet but nice enough to have a trip around the area.

Lovely spring like day outside, temp at 12c and when you get out of the keen breeze, it feels quite warm, half way round dog walk had to take my jacket off. Flowers are springing up, buds appearing on trees. And to think this day last year, we had a good dumping of snow!!
