Not liking the look of Friday at all. Hope a significant shift north or south happens.

Feels like Spring with all these showers around, hopefully an omen for a good storm season.

Serious downgrades required or we need to start taking this storm more seriously...

It's unusual to have model agreement so early on I think this is why the met have already issued a yellow warning..

GFS tends to over cook wind gusts... but the high res models are usually pretty good..

It’s my husband’s day off on Friday, he says he won’t be happy if we get a power cut as he wants to watch LOTR. So there will definitely be a power cut now

Be interesting to see how this does play out. Making sure my anemometer has fresh batteries!

Twas a tad blowy a wee while back. But at least, with the new 8-in-1 multi cooker my daughter just bought me, I'll be eating curry & chips every day this week!

Could be a little windy, come Friday!

A little family break to the Isle of Wight…lovely photo taken on Sandown beach today following a sharp shower…. Not looking forward to the ferry back to Southampton on Friday though….

Thats because we have had the most boring six weeks I can remember ,let it rip I say ..it's slowly preparing us ..I've even had a couple of showers today ..blimey it still exists then convection ...obsolete I thought

Try a slow cooked gammon in cola or a pork  loin in cola, highly recommend!

As for the wind, that'll be the Mutton Vindaloo (aka Del Boy)

After  valentines day looks a bit more livelier.. other than sunrises sunsets statistics  there really would not be much to say really and I know it's a personal weather preference but I do like something happening ,I really hope summer is hot hot and it doesn't match a non winter with a nothing - ness summer

Im quoting myself ..because 13 days ago the gfs had or near as damn it the wind ..not maybe in two separate low centres but just as windy ..credit where credits due to a great free global forecasting model ..:-)

I was thinking more of the hurricane, but 1987 does often get forgotten about for deep snow!

I guess it depends how bad the hurricane was for some.

Hi Bill, I suspect the models will water this down a tad over the next 48 hours. I'd be incredibly surprised if we had gusts of 90mph, think 65 is probably more likely but we'll see. Not a day to be heading over the Orwell bridge if its open!
