Hubby said you can get them that you can also heat the room with so he is looking at a combo one. I dunno how they work or the size etc but would deffo consider it for bed time!

Temp 32.3c ...

Not affiliated in ANY way just a wild google search, but it gives you an idea how the cost of a wallmount versus a portable unit pans out.

Peaked briefly at 33.2 here in (fairly) glorious sunshine at 12:20 then the sea breeze arrived with a brief 12 mph bang and knocked it back to 31, where it's remained ever since. To cap it, the sun is now weak with little shadow, for the first time in days so lots of high cloud - and some cumulus visible on the  N-NW horizon.

The day started off well though, having got down to a refreshing 16.7°C compared to 18.0 the night before but there was little wind so indoors it's been 27 to 29 throughout.

I've been looking on the net for one, and for around £250 you can get a decent one which comes with the window kit.

We have literally done nothing,  and getting the dog out for a walk is turning into going out either very late at night or very early in the morning. Sleep has been at a premium.

Must admit, cooler nights will be welcomed,  but Don't want to wish away this weather,  as it won't be long before the endless days of grey skies and wet and windy days take hold through autumn and winter.

i love the grey skys and wet +windy days

Why's your temp soooo high? Mine is sooo low!

I won't bother looking in the convective thread then! When are we due some?

Earlier in the week I thought we might get some today, but I'm not sure we will be amongst the lucky ones. I'm crossing my fingers that the maritime air from the west will meet the continental air from the south at a convergence point over Bristol, but it's wishful thinking more than anything.

According to a local weather station just down the road from me it's 33C .

Quite a few "fluffy " clouds around now after a milky sky this morning.

Central Bristol looks to have got close to 35 degrees again today.

Tower has gone up in the distance to my NW in the Brecons, but looks pretty isolated. An encouraging sign, nevertheless.

Quite a bit cooler this afternoon after reaching 28.9°C this morning thanks to more cloud moving in. Much cooler now with a light breeze picking up over the last hour or so. 21.0°C

Still 28c in our back garden, but a bit of breeze blowing through our Southerly facing window now. Looking forward to a cooler night tonight I hope.

Even though the temperature has now dropped below 22°C, the RH has increased dramatically, and the dew point is now the highest its been for days lol

28c here still. I'm baked! 31 in the bedroom and 28 in the living room

Well, Beka, it's weather like this, awful everywhere, that sometimes renders the regional threads redundant: Betty Swollocks is everywhere!😱

Just got in from the beach at Lee on Solent, streets and cvarparks still packed like sardines. Temperature down to a wonderful 22°C just as we left, and all the way home as well! Until that is I opened the door, almost got blasted back out again by the heat, and looked at my lounge thermometer. 28.7°C!  The entire house is one huge storage heater, even upstairs where I left all the windows open it's 27.5 ... it'll take days to get rid of all that lot.
