Heavy snow/graupel now.

Quite a few showers lining up behind this one  coming straight from the Mersey which is exactly the direction we require.

Waking up to hear about chaos on the local roads this morning, a combination of heavy traffic alongside ungritted roads and snow fallen on-top of already iced over surfaces from the freeze overnight. Macc to Whaley Road 'impassible', A6 traffic at a near-standstill from Hazel Grove up to Furness Vale, minor 'bumps' on side roads, it's definitely a cheaper day to stay off work than risk damaging the car (although many haven't got that luxury.)

Yeah, a few bonus showers. Conditions still fine for snow, temp 0.4C, dp at freezing.

Pretty much like yesterday only a dusting here. Bring on the easterly 😂 almost always deliver here locally with a heavier fall. Looks like today the far south of Manchester was under the heavier prolonged stuff and then it moved towards Macclesfield and into the southern peaks. North and South of this not much. It just emphasises how a few miles can make the difference if you are under a bigger more heavier band. Luck of the draw.

A bit surprised to see some overnight lying snow and more so when I got caught in a heavy snow shower when walking to the paper shop at 7.30am. After a brief sunny interval, it is snowing again!

Edit - Cheshire Snow - you're right, snowing here again at Crewe

The radar was interesting as it approached here seem to arch back a bit.

The shower that went through my area looks like is heading towards your area

Had a heavy snow shower about 15 mins ago. About 5cm in total (wythenshawe, south manchester) - roads are bedlam!

Nice surprise to wake up to

Could be some nice showers developing for Manchester area in the next hour.

Seems to be some bubbling up so hopefully they will continue to develop as they push inland

In the 'light dusting' club... just to far east for this phase of snow showers. Still -1 so feeling wintry if nothing else.

different here in the SW Peaks mate, more a case of luck but rare i see glossop pounded by a westerly, usually its along the mersey into buxton

you want a front or an easterly which are rare here. last time glossop stood out was prob 4th march 2016

The biggest fall since I’ve lived in Glossopia was 2018… dry powdery snow with huge drifts on the hills…

Was awoken to thunder & lightening early hours with torrential hail/graupel, however, opened the curtains this morning to a thick layer of dry concrete! Amazing stuff, get in there!

can’t buy a shower in this spell. These lot going north of me. Happy to see Cheshire and those South of her getting a bit of action. Looks like at least 10 days until any more interest ☹️
