Honestly can't wait for it to cool off, weather like this just makes my hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) a million times worse, I feel sorry for everyone who suffers from that horrible condition!

Yeah, even when relief comes it can take a while to get the air in the house back to normal. What a dreadful spell this has been.

Not been gaming on my pc since this heat started, with the cpu running around 70c & the gpu around 65c you can literally see the air temp rising steadily in the room & it's 30c in here with it off!.

Just looked at the radar, thunderstorms in the East Riding, yay, right at the sw corner, but there is hope, still 60 miles away from us but look to be heading NE.

Its definitely more common even up here. We didn't hit 30C here between August 2001 and July 2018. However since then 6 days have managed it. Today is having a good go at being the 7th but just falling short at 29.8C so far.

We always reached 30C most years here, at least since the 90s - in the 90s only four years failed to reach 30C (91, 92, 93, 94), and in the 2000s only three years (07, 08, 09). In the 13 years since 2010 we have only failed to reach 30C for three of them - 2010, 2012 and 2014.

The biggest change here is reaching the mid 30s - we've exceeded 34C four times since 2019. Before 2019 the last (and only) time we exceeded 34C was August 1990.

Heatwave starting to feel like it's easing a little this afternoon, with a cooler breeze developing, phew! 😌

And if people think we're not warming up they are deluding themselves.

Can’t wait for this horrid heat to do one. It’s going to feel so much nicer once we return to cooler and fresher conditions. Thankfully we've avoided any sort of prolonged heat thus far this year.

Summer, you can return next year, now do one 😂

Just seeing Met Office are reporting this is "provisionally the hottest day of the year so far".

In mid September.

A slight rumble of thunder here a short time ago but no rain or lightening either.  I think tomorrow will be the day for that.

It's not mid September, it's the first third, therefore still early September.

Don't think it had these temps in September, and as the record for consecutive 30s in this month has fallen, certainly not for this long lol.

I’m so glad this hot spell is almost over. Unfortunately my bit of the country won’t get any thunderstorms which I enjoy alot 😿
