This is absolutely nothing to look at but it’s putting out some loud rumbles!

Two or three rumbles here, one incredibly bright flash which I even saw tucked away in the shower.

3/10 for effort, the 2nd strongest storm this year (the strongest managed about 6 rumbles) 😂

Direct hit! Lots of hail, constant thunder for time and literally just formed above me

Shame that storm only got going as it had already past however some extremely solid looking convection about 20 or so miles to my west heading this way!

London got hit by some storms after 2:30 this afternoon. Think we had a second one around 4ish.

I filmed some of it, but it’s been a bugger to load the videos lol.

Sounds like these storms are quite widespread today. Definitely the best storm I’ve seen for a number of years in London.

Small shower just to the south at the moment.

Just two rumbles and that was it. Thundery shower.

Two decent storms in London today. Massive thunder booms and torrential rain. Didn't see any lightning though.

Definitely made up for the lack of storms this summer. Quite a notable set of storms.

Won’t forget the late bank holiday Saturday this year lol.

I noticed some fork lightning up in north London this afternoon.

Currently stuck in bed with a pesky head-cold for the past few days, unable to chase but I got a good view of the cell that's been firing some sferics around the Stockport/Glossop area as its rotation around the low now passes it to my west.

Thunder nearby from the shower passing over Bristol currently.  Heavy rain.

very similar with me around 1655-about 1710, the most hailstones I have seen for a long time. Certainly got tops to what the Doncaster predicted ascent suggested

Been a stunning day here, lovely cloudscapes around! Had a couple of heavy showers at around 2/3 ish, which pretty much weakened overhead. Got convection all around, some quite rapid to my NE towards lutterworth etc. Still the risk of one or two showers, as them near Stoke seem quite lively. Nice to see pictures, seems hail was quite common in showers today.

Yeah they were probably the biggest I’ve seen for a long while. The storm itself was very small, barely a few miles across, but a surprising amount of thunder and lightning.

Just heard some really loud thunder just east of Bristol, it's a nice reward for missing the storms in Christchurch this afternoon ⚡🌩️⛈️
