Storm Aline in Madrid..

Technically the rain tomorrow is Storm Aline, a different low to Babet. However it seems everyone in the UK is just going with Babet which I don't mind.

Babet isn't there any more so it should be Aline.  Like the flood in cork was Babet as that hadn't arrived yet.

Finally, I'm looking at what's to the south and thinking, are they sure it's not warnable.

It doesn't really matter though, its basically all one set of impacts. It makes more sense to call it one thing - the technicalities are less important than the consequences.

It’s always difficult to get the scientists to accept that. For them the technicalities are everything!

These were from earlier (so not uptodate now) but the Social Media posts manage to separate  and yet the actual warning page for public to use, is so cluttered and unclear

Don’t think us in NWales will add to warning clutter on account of mostly hills and sheep.

Similar places still get the prolonged rainfall, however.

It will be interesting to see what the radar looks like in the morning as we move increasingly towards a nowcast event.

where abouts are you? I'm in Melton and remember the Good Friday flood of 1998. Hopefully the dams constructed since then will prevent a repeat.
