The center came in around the Bridport area and dropped to 953.5 as it tracked east between Bournemouth and Portsmouth.

Well I wasn't expecting to be woken up in the middle of my sleep by a loud clap of thunder, It's so unusual to hear thunder in november, I get there is thundersnow but that is rare within itself anywhere.

But it seems i'm in the eye now as there is only a bit of wind but no howling or whistling like there was last night against my windows. Will check out any damages around my area and mum said on her way to tesco there is a fallen tree

Certainly cutting up rough on the seafront.

Just got lifted and blown along by the wind at Brighton marina.

A little scary even for me,went with a "it's not that bad attitude"

Monster waves too.

Will try and get some photos at the 1pm high tide

It’s the most dry, calm and still day here in the west, crazy to think such a band of rain around 60 miles away.

953mb here now and still falling

I think this is the lowest surface pressure I've been personally present within

EDIT: 952mb now

You'll need to adjust your relative pressure, as that's too low. The system bottomed out at 953.5 along the south coast

So sorry to see this carnage. Just miserable for all those affected.

Gusts before the eye came through between 9-10 76 mph. Back in the storm now, but much calmer winds.

How many roofers and general builders on that island? Then think how hard it is to find a competent one anywhere, much less else on an island. Just how will the people get help quickly enough to prevent more damage and get enough insurance assessors. Really is terrible.

I had roofers up recently for a survey and had them fix absolutely anything they saw even slightly not perfect, I was able to get up the scaffolding myself to oversee etc. This tragedy for these poor folks is a reminder to all that in this climate you need a sound roof, all roofs need attention, they never get better on their own and even if all else falls apart at least you have the proverbial roof over your head. In this case the feeling these people have today is not that. Heads up and lets see what help they get, including hopefully flying out teams of volunteers to work it

This storm like dipping it's toes in water, all the way along the south coast, now heading up east coast. Likes the border between both for some reason.

And this seems like the peak, feels like it is even more intense than half an hour ago. The ICON/ARPEGE/WRF models all suggest peak between now and 2PM (brussels time)

Just had the eye pass about 20 miles to our south over Aldeburgh, went calm here for about 5 minutes, wind has now switched and got up again, and the rain has restarted. I am in Kessingland at the moment

There’s a good few but if it’s like Guernsey roofers most will be already booked up prior to to this.

Apart from when the eye was here, it's still gusting more than I thought, wind has turned though obviously, more sws, 51 between 10-11
