LetItSnow! We ain't looking for things to go wrong, mate. Things GO wrong and have been going wrong for the past year. Every time a high is announced something happens (usually an Atlantic low) and bang goes the dry spell. Anyways, moaning is the national past-time so don't knock it 🙂

Jonnoramo87 You really going to write off the whole of summer 2024 because of one long range forecast? Dude they can't even accurately predict the weather in 2 weeks time, let alone months.

SunnyG "We ain't looking for things to go wrong" With all due respect mate that's exactly what you are doing

Nope. Just pointing out what the models are showing. Try again.

Don I definitely am. Felt a bit like a vampire emerging from my coffin this morning when I went out into the sun.

Here it comes, right on cue. It'll no doubt clear up again come late afternoon/early evening 😆

Why does this country have a literal inability to remain sunny for just 1 whole day?

Back to normal here with the usual greyness and a chilly easterly. At least we had one decent day this week.

3 hours ago, I remember Atlantic 252 said:

Yes, like certain members in winter, who don't post now, former world snooker champion namesake (playing today 10am) and footballer number spelled backwards

And I know exactly who you are talking about. 🤣

MP-R From where I'm sitting, the models are pretty sound, the GFS especially is good even more so compared to recent months. I'm not gonna make a song and dance about the constant moaning because I am intelligent to realise some people can never be satisfied.

Mostly cloudy now ... of course ... Because we can't manage a full day of sun here!

Everything has grown excessively this year and there is no surprise given how much rain has fallen and now temps are higher and the sun is shining, much better than 40C and arid looking landscapes

Wade it's only early May heat is pretty rare this soon. I'm sure at some point in the next 12 weeks we will be in the furnace. It seems to be a given over the last few years.

Another day that turned out better than what was forecast (at least for this neck of the woods). It was forecast to be cloudy this afternoon, but instead it is sunny with scattered clouds.

Dark Horse Manchester usually falls within the Cheshire plains gap which gets a more southern influenced climate compared to the rest of the north. You can always see the Cheshire plains on temperature gradient maps.

WadeWe'll have to agree to disagree. With all due respect, 10 times out 10, when we are told dry spell, we get rain. I don't believe in fairy tales, but you're welcome to. 🙂

Ended up clearing earlier than forecast here. Can't complain. Ideal weather for my friend"s engagement party.

SunnyG Fairy tales? You might want to get the definition of fairy tales correct before having a go back at me. Examples of fairy tales are tooth fairies, Easter bunnys and Santa claus, all of which don't exist and won't ever regardless of what you tell your kids. On the other hand what the GFS is showing for next week is perfectly possible.
