Devon is looking interesting now..or in Kaz's part of the world

with some heavy returns on radar

Radar looks great but zip over me, i can see darker clouds on the horizon but according to radar it should be right over me head about now. But the clouds are hardly moving in fact its very difficult to see which way they are heading due to such slow movement.

right all eyes back to the Grand Prix go jenson.

This rain is looking like running ashore within an hour or so??

Can we expect to see intensification as it does - hope so

UPDATE - That pitiful shower has now faded to nothing in the space of a couple of miles...I'm wondering if the approaching front is killing off the shower potential? I'm not sure of the mechanics of it but you often here forecasters talk of approaching fronts killing off convection before running in.

Lengthy, warm spells of sunshine! If anything, to look outside at the moment you'd think we were under the influence of HP!

Can see some Convection now to my South West/West. Looks like a tower shooting up. Possibly around the Kidderminster area?

Once again it appears to be a total let down for the south east!!!

There is a huge cell around the Heathrow airport which looks like it is going to break through soon and give North west London onwards a hammering!!

Can see some heavy rain shafts to the south of west atm from what looks like from here quite an isolated shower. The outflow of the shower brought a bank of jet black cloud over us but the sun is out again and just looking thundery to my south.

Yeah, the most interesting cells atm on Radar are the ones around the the SW moving slowly NE towards the Bristol area. Gotta say, I was expecting something in terms of storms to have developed by now especially around C-southern areas given the sunshine and CAPE values.

Same here - just wonder if that front over the channel comes ashore enough, and I presume that the time timing should be good, whether that will trigger that available energy into the form of intense and hopefully thundery rain, as opposed to individual cells which at the moment look weak.

Can confirm the one towards Weston: http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ and there are two smaller ones near south Bristol but sunshine here. Hopefully these will grow and more will pop up over the next hour or so - it feels humid when the sun is out as if there IS going to be a storm.

There is plenty of time yet for any showers or storms to develop but i do feel they will be quite scattered and quite a few places could stay dry for the rest of the day.

The blue skies are ever so slowly approaching here but the convection looks very good.

Big cells now across SW - cells now as they leave Kent and run into N London, showing signs of intensification.

This takes the biscuit!! Though, front in the channel making landfall now around the IoW with almost instantaneous intensification. Quite intense looking downpours across N France also.

Having a nice little storm here at the moment that is embedded in the rain band , strange that no sferics showing up on radar though. Had 4 flashes of lightening in 5 mins so far.

Just had a fairly heavy shower with hail. It seemed to come out of nowhere. And as I type some fairly large hail just dropping out the sky, strange.

No thunder or lightning.

We have pea size hail.

Some good convection kicking off over head again - they seem to be towering quite high but its hard to tell when you're beneath it, lol

Looking at the radar, some potent looking showers around. Only lasted a few minutes, but that was some large hail, the sort that only drop out of the sky randomly (if you know what I mean).

Sun out now.

I have a great view of the Bristol thunderstorms from here, can see them very clearly, nothing in the way, thought I might have heard a very distant rumble but i'm not sure. Just been missed by these by a fraction, 10 miles, if that.

I can confirm the touch down of what looks like an upper F2 tornado in west London.

I will add a damage report once I retreat from my storm shelter.
