That blob heading into our region is surely too far west to trouble Consett and Stanley.

The next band highlighted by snowman has a better chance of giving us a covering.

Looks like this might hit me just to the West of Durham as long as it survives the hills. I'm tempted to stay up another hour to see.

Anyways, its a case of now casting regarding the events in the next few days, stuff any predictions, stuff the BBC charts, stuff the GFS charts, its what the radar says. Only use the PPN charts as a guide and not at face value.

In other words Sod All The Science Its Gonna Snow :)

Its snowing very lightly with small flakes at the moment, nothing to get excited about but better than nothing i suppose.

The band coming down will probably link up with the ppn to the west now as it skirts over and around the cheviots i expect to see some brighter echoes to develop on the radar, especially by the time it reaches the southern parts of our region.

Its took me ages to post this...NW servers having large traffic issues ?

light snow here too..

The Jedburgh web cam which seems to show the line of path of the forthcoming snow for consett, stanley and s tyneside has been snowing non stop for 40 mis now. Tis looking good if lasts as long as it tracks SE.

is this on course to hit us on Teesside? its looks like it may be heading this way.

In theory it would however in practice with the northerly digging down, it would probably miss you but as ever wait and see.

Snowing slightly more heavier and slightly larger flakes, i would not say its at the moderate intensity yet but it is at the intensity that if we had a bone dry ground, you would see snowflakes on the ground by the morning time.

Nice too see the front still slowly pepping up on our side of the Pennines, still don't expect too much but certainly looks more encouraging than it did around 2-3 hours ago.

Lampost watching it is then lol

I suppose if we miss that one there are quite a few showers cropping up further up your neck of the woods, you can blow them down here for us :D

I fell asleep and by the looks of the radar we missed the heaviest stuff here with it skirting just to our West. But it looks like there's been a few hours of light snow. Currently light to moderate snow falling with medium sized flakes.

Still snowing lightly - there's maybe a cm or 2 fallen (not been out to check).
