Snowing quite heavily in Winterbourne again now. So it definately has not changed to rain here yet. The only thaw going on is on the roofs. All the snow on the trees has not yet gone. One of the best snowy periods in a very long time. Definately takes me back to the 80s!!

Im in Winterbourne too, nice little moderate/heavy shower :)

Gas, and snow ploughs... I live on the wrong part of Dartmoor! :)

That's nothing fella, As I type there are mini diggers, plows, jcb,s and men with shovels clearing the main street and footpaths!!!!

Now if I can only get my car to the main road everything will be great.

The temp around 100feet above the earths surface is a good 2 or 3 degrees higher than the ground. At least, it was in the centre of Australia when ballooning, -4C at the ground and +1c at 100feet, above that it colder again.

Don't know why, and may not be the same everywhere.unknw.gif

Could be wind as well?

Ahh i see! Probably not wind, wasn't that windy last night, let alone now!

-4C in the center of Australia!?

5am in the middle of winter, in the desert.

Don't worry, it was 35c+ during the day :)

Amazing snow in the forest. This is as thick as we have had at any time this winter. Brilliant. Roads are white again. 8inches now today.

If you look at the BBC map the nearest snow to us at this moment is meant to be in North Wales.

Plenty of snow still on the ground, but it is melting.

Heavy snow here currently. Looks like its the very last bit to move over us.

Goodgame yall.

Signal is strong for another colder spell in the next week or so.

Maybe this warming up will be a small blip in the cold.

I think around midweek next week we could be looking at another cold spell.

But its too far away to tell a the moment.

Lets get this weekend of warm air over with and start looking then.

( Well, i say warm... Just above 0c air lol )

It doesnt look like this LP that moved in has done much damage to the temps at the moment. ( apart from far SW )

Could be a good sign that any other LP to move in will also have issues. - May help with building up the next colderly

The easterly, assuming it gets here, would not produce widespread snow falls in the west, indeed, it rarely brings widespread snow to the east.

You would need alot of instability to produce sunshine and snow showers, however, when the atlantic comes back in we get snow like last Tuesday/Wednesday and this Tuesday/Wednesday.

Or if there is channel low etc. etc.

Afternoon. Got about a further 15cm last night so much less than expected. Phew.. Temp currently -0.5C and very misty. The forest near by looks like Lapland the trees are so heavily laden with snow.
