Its eased off again, in between showers, but we have a thin cover even on the paths.

Not a great photo but large snowflakes being driven on by a fresh wind now beginning to settle. Currently 0.3cpost-2744-0-38796800-1363628427_thumb.jp

Constant showers here, really is a good show so far. Looking forward already to seeing that brilliant orange glow you get when it snows at night and the skies are laden with the white stuff.

Starting to get a good covering here now. Been constant all day but wet type. Seen a lot of gritters all afternoon going up and down so they are expecting something. 0.3c/-0.3c/NE. Quite heavy and blowy as I type.

Early days here in Leith .... but taking here as a low-lying coastal benchmark - and with the whole overnight period to go - some places are going to get pummelled with snaw !

Moderate snow. Large flakes. Everything white. A cm or two . This looks to be fun. Radar is intensifying. Great that its lying.

Some very heavy snow around here the past hour. Slightly concerned about the wet surfaces, but hopefully it will start to freeze overnight.

Snaw really belting down here now. Upper fields near the Knock (big hill in Crieff) are now white and it's settling readily at lower levels, too.

A few pics taken before the light goes this evening:
