Yep, just scored a direct hit from that Oban locale.  The showers weren't reaching this far not so long ago :)

Had a bit here (still all snow) but pretty light - looks like it's another South Fife (south of the Lomonds at least) one. There's a big shower tracking a fair bit further north and some very dark red just a touch north of where that last one came from so I live in hope, temperature back down to 2.1C now :)

Possible that we might just sneak a temperature drop between now and 3am:

Down to 2C here now.

Wet snow falling and temp reading -1C in Thornton, Kirkcaldy. Feels miserable outside. Not sure how accurate that temp is, probably reflects a wet bulb reading.

Some further decent heavy snow showers through the afternoon and evening here.

Was through in Crieff earlier and it's sticking more readily there than here.

Snaps attached of the snow cover up at the Hydro and then further down the town at my mum's place.

A bare covering in Comrie and currently 1.1ºC/0.5ºC.

Electricity just back on after 48 hours in the stone age. Feels a bit weird actually and very bright. We've played board games a plenty. Too long to go though but a primus, a wood burner and a multitude of candles saw us through. I guess it's just a case of when not if for the next power cut. So when is the next one folks?

Seems Like a lull out here? any more due through out the night Lomond?

You're just missing them to the north and south, not quite making it as far east as here but you should get a few more showers hitting through the night.

Wandered out at around 8:15pm to a party a few streets away and the earlier melted snow had frozen up solid and every surface was icy. Coming back a little while ago it was even more skittery if that is possible. Temp been sat around 2C for hours with a dewpoint below zero.

N Ayrshire shield in full working order......just rain here as always.

I feel privileged, the Kelso snowshield has allowed around 100 snowflakes to be left (possibly frozen) to the roof of my car this morning. Nothing much else on any other surface.

Edit: This morning's runs haven't cleared up Thursday's storm track, if anything the waters are muddier rather than cleaner. The UKMO now takes the low further north than it did yesterday, and just when you think that the track is getting nailded down, the ECM decides to take the centre of the low straight through Scotland with the strong winds a long way south.

Morning all. At best a small talcum powder dusting of snow through the night and that was it. Hopefully others have done better. :-)

It may not be much..... (Fields etc are all green) but the man made arena which seems to be a great insulator is WHITE! That will do for me, only a dusting but I have lying snow for the third time this winter. Let's hope we get some next week too :)

Wintry scene with slushy looking wet snowcover still in place, skies look full, however just drizzle / snizzle out there at present.

Satellite shows a mixed picture, snow at elevation and where precip. intensifies.

A good match for the picture on the NMM Short Range model.

The mid-week low continues to edge south with the core of the low crossing Scotland and thereby core of strongest wind gusts not as fierce as this week.

Prior to that we have another bomb low passing the north of the country, Jet remains dialled at us.

Fax charts for midweek are intriguing, ( last nights 96 below with the early morning 84) 528 line wrapped here there and everywhere, troughs embedded in the flow and fronts curling in.

The week ahead is certainly looking stormy and cold with plenty of snow chances. Overnight Monday into Tuesday is looking decent with the temperature looking a bit better for lying snow that yesterday.

Interestingly the heavy rain that has been falling here for the last couple of hours has turned back to wet snow and the temperature is dropping again from 3.2c to 2.4c and the dewpoint is down from 2.1c to 1.6c.
