A covering on the tops on the NYM this morning, over Blakey Ridge, but nothing lower down with us in Hutton Le Hole.  This from the road camera.

A lovely spring like day here! Nothing of the yellow warning for snow & ice. A lot of rain last night so did expect the ice risk this morning, but not even a frost! Sunshine & quite still making the 3c feel pleasant enough in the sun (overnight low was 2c).

Same here. Flakes sticking if not on roads/pavements but too few to make much of a difference.

No hint of snow at the coast, apart from the wind not a bad day, although are were some showers about.

Lunchtime saw winds W force 6-7, still enough to make cycling a challenge once out of the shelter of the village, but not as bad as yesterday, managed to do my full 10 miles today. Temps 6c but felt colder in the wind. Partly sunny. Dodged this shower which looked to be over towards Fordon

I'm up at over 200m above Sheffield, heavy snow showers sticking on vegetation at times but not on roads or pavements.

Heavy snow showers on and off today, it only stuck at home first thing with a light covering on the tops. I walked the dogs on the tops this aft above 400m in heavy snow with some settling albeit only temporary again.

Would love that band of precipitation over Cumbria and County Durham to maintain its intensity and give us a covering as it pushes south.  Unfortunately most of the modelling breaks it up and fragments it.

Some amazing cloud structures sitting along the coast on my journey home….thought it might just be out at sea but as I’ve arrived home now the skies are stormy and graupel shower started.  Radar shows this band further north above Scarb but we seem to sitting right under it in reality 👍🏼

A couple of rain and sleet showers in Lincoln this afternoon, with the temperature falling from around 7.5C to 3.5C, and the latest one at around 18:40pm was more like sleety snow, with flakes clearly coming down.

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
