Model discussion - hunt for cold - Christmas countdown

Paul
Message added by Paul,

Please remember this is a model based discussion - some chat is ok, but a weather model related theme should run throughout.

The guiding principles of everyone's participation in this thread are:
Be kind -- Stay on topic -- Share your knowledge -- Be polite -- Be honest -- Be tolerant -- Be family friendly

For a less frenetic look at the models head over to the alternate model discussion

It’s not updated all day, and I’m going off today and the trend!! Anyway, let’s enjoy the ECM , hopefully a boooom at 168.

That's because only the 03Z and 15Z charts go out to 120 hours. The other 6 runs don't.

Nothing can be dismissed with the current output, no matter what model you use.

Must be at the colder end of its members but hopefully not.

The UKMO also develops another shortwave to the ne by day 6 .

Overall I think we need rid of its output which seems to be obsessed with complications.

So goodbye and good riddance to it , come back when you’re in a festive mood!

How can a model run be obsessed with complications? Or in a festive mood? Surely they are just computer algorithms……..
