Woke up just after six, looked outside and it was dry with maybe a little frost, went to the bathroom. Came out of the bathroom, looked outside and it was a white out

Working near Kendal today and it is fresh but bright, no snow so far.

In the northern Lake District low of -0.6c overnight. Slight snow covering at home, but higher fells plastered. A wonderful sight and few more days to come.

Suspect snow fell on northern and eastern fells, but not seen them yet. Central and southern fells no new snow. It is snowing here, homegrown convection.

Evidence if needed if the effects of an ever strengthening sun and warming of the ground.. homegrown convection is happening, thanks to marked temp differentials in upper air temps. Snow showers popping up out of nowhere, reason for saying April showers. If it was Nov to Feb such an airstream unlikely to produce anything convective here, and snow would only occur under trough or frontal feature. Also snow with air temp 5.6 degrees.

Dandruff floating in the wind...so much more dramatic over the other side of the Pens, but alas we'll feed off the scraps every now and again.  Chilly wind.

A lovely frosty start this morning, low of -0.8C. it has been a mostly sunny day for the most part and dry until just now when we had a passing snow shower. Clouds have bubbled up quickly this afternoon. That's the beauty of this time of year. Doesn't matter what direction the snow showers are coming from, they can crop up anywhere inland in the daytime due to convection. Sky is looking very threatening now.

Cold afternoon. Current temp 3.7 degrees under sunshine, uppers are at there coldest right now under this airstream. A notably cold night ahead I feel.

Looks like another few more days of chilly weather before it turns *slightly* milder but there doesn't look to be anything all that warm on the horizon, nothing like what we had a few days back. Possibly some more snow chances over the next 24 hours. Still a rash of showers moving down from the N/NNE at the moment, whether these will die off later because of no convection remains to be seen. Wouldn't be surprised if we get another covering later on though like this morning. Uppers and dew points very much on the right side.

Also of note a band of showers are forecast tomorrow night early Saturday travelling down the western side of the UK maybe one last chance of something wintry before we can draw the line and then start looking again in November.

Good to see plenty of the region getting at least a bit of falling and settling snow today.

we had the slightest of a covering first thing and a few flakes at one stage later in the morning but it’s here it’s been a mainly dry and increasingly sunny day and other than it feeling a lot colder, the conditions are very similar to last week.

For those who saw the snow, I hope you enjoyed it but personally I’m glad I largely missed out on it.

Nothing settled here so far.. what showers we've had so far today very short lived and light more of a sleety cold rain nature. Need something more long lasting and heavy for anything to settle and I suspect we won't see much overnight. Tomorrow may bring a few showers but any wintriness more likely reserved higher ground. Friday overnight into Sat holds more promise might see snow to lower levels but will be a brief affair and not expecting much more than a sugar coating.

Next 3 nights will bring air frost. A cold start to April.

Had a snow shower 1pm, then walked home at 2pm in bright sunshine and 6°.  Just had heavy graupel shower which blotted out the view of the hills.  Thick grey cloud cover above with bright blue sky and cumulus in the distance, shame the roofs are in the way.  Currenty 3.5°

A decaying wintry shower just passed through here. That will be our lot here for today I should think, with was only a small offering, but nice to see. Clearing skies and probably a decent frost to come overnight.

Yes, we had the same in the south of Cheshire, with skies now clearing and a cold night in prospect.
