Hi Paul, whats your thoughts on depths around our region? I'm going for about 6-8cm all said and done.

Hi Mate

I would be happy with 10cm (4") tbh.

We traditionally never do well out of Frontal Snows but this set up is pretty rare, for us to have -1.2c and -5.6c Dewpoints with an approaching Front is almost unheard of. The only similar event like this happened back in 1942!

But we might eek out a 13cm if we hang on to the more prolonged stuff sunday morning. This will definately stay around and is only the pre-cursor to our best set-up hopefully coming end of next week (The fabled North Easterly) with loads of heavy snow showers!

292 people online on this Thread! Hello you lovely lot!!

Here's to a good night shining torches into the garden :) Wrap up, make sure your animals are inside and have an (optional) warming beverage.

I have just forced the dog to have a whisky and soda on the back of this advice. Could be a long evening as he is now quite tipsy and has just asked me for a fight and a kebab.

Have fun everyone and good luck!

AS

Will the people in Thanet be the last to see snow?

temp -3.1. and very quiet out there.

basically allthough i am no expert as you may gather, the bbc tv forecasts have us as the last ones to get it and it stays for quite a while

The snow started about 20 mins ago (very lightly) and is slowly building in intensity, with larger flakes slowly appearing and a very slight covering on plant pots etc...Not bad considering the ppn wasn't due to arrive until at least 9pm!!

Very important call this one for members further east on the south coast. It is notoriously difficult to get snow in Worthing!

The first narrow band over London seems to be intensifying as it pushes east.

Sorry sleety but that does not take into account all of the south east coast. not much further up from you in the whole scheme of things and it is zero here and -5.4 dewpoint. it has always been forcasted to be more marginal the further West you are. Hope that didnt sound too grumpy my friend but we dont want less learned members to start worrying.

OOOps edited East to West, duuuur!

Spirit of the blitz, eh?

Looks like Powelly has managed to sort things out at The Valley - good job you've got so many points on the board because the customary Charlton 'can't win a game in the last 15 matches of the season syndrome' will kick in soon. And we need a tasty local derby seeing as Millwall are going down. :good:

Deeper snow at The Valley or Selhurst tonight? I reckon you might win that one.

We are going well at the moment, amazing what a bit of money can do, our normal can't win a game run tends to start in January, and after Tuesday night I am worried it could be staring, last time we got promoted round about this time we had a 15 point lead only to win it by 2 points.

Don't mind going to the supermarket ground, never seen us lose there. Wish you luck for the season.

Getting heavier now and a slight covering on the rooftops opposite. Large flakes beginning to swirl in the mix! WHAT FUN!!!!
