Bit of Dandruff appearing now at the uni, wedged between the band currently over Birmingham and the phantom band that's appeared.

It's not a phantom band.

Quite right :D remarkable appearance its made though along the DAM line, extends from the south coast right the way up past York now! Looks to be packing some oomph as well.

seems the small low over Ireland is causing a few problems for the models atm. What that does make big difference to precip intensity and locations. Of course the areas highlighted by the met amber or red warning are most likely to get hit with decent snow fall but wouldn't suprised to see a few others aswell.

well so far it appears things have improved for us tomorrow and this light snow falling now appears to be intensifying with a few big flakes, what a turn around from the doom & gloom first thing this morning

What do the models show for this cold spell as things stand? Is it likely to continue, or even get worse giving Britain winter weather not seen for 30 years? Or is the end in sight appearing, and zonal SW'ly 10'C drizzle on the way for this time next week?

Would be good if someone who knows their stuff offered an honest assessment.

Itl stay cold up until next mon/tues. No one here can say with any confidence after that. Check back Sunday for a better idea on how next week shapes up. Id guess at 65/35 in favour of remaining cold.

Well it's been snowing lightly here for 30 mins or more and it's even settling a little bit. Granted the heavier precip is out towards Melton way but we are still seeing light snow from this.

Things are picking up in Nottingham, getting darker and snowfall has increased. Would say its verging on moderate now.

Agreed been going now for a good 45 mins and appears to be intensifying

I'm not at home, but according to my parents nothing is falling.

Sustained moderate snowfall now, band continuing to grow and expand for the time being... persistent snowfall for 2 hours and counting, nice bonus.

Have you got a dusting of snow at all from it?

Wow, if I lived somewhere in the south-west corner I'd probably have creamed my pants at the 12z! Sorry for the crude remark, but I don't know how else to put it. About as good as it could possibly get for them.

Nice to see the Mon/Tues event upgrade for us though. Not going to be a classic here in the East Mids but we should still see some heavy snowfalls over the coming days.

Hopefully the band to the west of cov should move across us soon

Hard to tell as we already had 100% cover of 5cms.

Oh that didn't occur to me, most of the snow gone from earlier in the week except for on the grass here.
