We peaked today at 38.2c , but now down to 28.5c and very dark clouds are upon us + a rumble of thunder

A few spots here in East London and a noticeable rise in humidity so very uncomfortable now.

The rain has got its act together to the south and while not torrential there's certainly some coming up from France.

Big fat convective drops. The neighbours must think inam mental sitting out in the garden and it's no sooner stopped

Plenty of heavy convective drops....but its the type that when you hear it pattering away you think it's doing the garden a world of good, but when you look outside, the pavements are barely damp.

Bizarre skies as the front crosses. Can clearly see some Precipitation falling but re-evaporating mid level. Perhaps explains the odd web like ribbons.

Interesting skies, got some time-lapses to upload when my connection gets more reliable after the recent powercut/powercuts.

Awful, isn't it?

It's been windy enough here, but a horrible hot, drying wind.

Well that lasted 3 minutes and even the garden furniture is dry again.

Nothing else coming east of a line Sheerness - Tenterden - Rye.

Winds are westerly but all showers are moving almost S - N.

Every brightly coloured echo on the rainfall radar gets deflected by the N20 storm-shield ☹️

Fingers crossed some of that action travelling north from France breaks through

It was 32c officially in Shoreham and 38c in Herstomceux.

I'm not on the coast, I'm tucked in the lee of the Downs.

Temperatures slowly dropping but the heat index is actually staying constant or increasing due to rising humidity

Think I am glad to see the temperatures lowering, it has been very uncomfortable to sleep in and work in, + have had to water garden twice a day in this heat yet all plants still becoming bone dry due to exceptional heat, 25 each day will do nicely
