That storm is going for it heading towards Dorset/Hants in the middle of the channel!

I'm now at Barton on sea, and can see distance lightning on the horizon

Will it survive the rest of its journey. Probably not but I'm going to be here to find out

Evening all it's getting towards that time of the year. If that storm in the channel can survive then anyone around Swanage could be getting some decent lightning in a while. If anyone is out in that near area a trip up to Durlston head could be pretty good indeed. It's where I would be headed now if I was down that way!

That would also be a very good shout if it can survive the crossing, good luck and hope you get a banger of a storm!

That's a great view can see for miles, Barton on sea is lovely. Those cloud's have got a bit about them too so you could be in for a treat if it can carry on.

Been trying to sleep for an hour but just had to have another look at the radars, and wow, that storm is somehow still going, and barreling straight for me!

Science says the storm fuel is over the channel, they will tease us and get near land and die off.

BUT tomo is another story… looking ace at the moment

Maybe I should call it a day, and hope tomorrow does turn out better

Just finishing up a time lapse, but got the cheeky shop using night sight on my phone

I’m on the other side of the Wight and it seems it’s going to clip - nothing more then a slight breeze at the moment.

Looks to be some backbuilding starting to occur and dare I say it something trying to happen near the South East, not convinced we will have a storm here to be fair but anyone between Swanage and Southampton if it survives it might be game on for you guys down there.

PPN decreasing on Landfall. What’s new!!
Channel still cold this time of year.
Thunder activity pretty dire, although the U.K. just came second in Eurovision tonight, wonders do happen!!

Bit of Rain heading over to my location (Bedfordshire) later in night, nothing unusual. Shaping up for a another decent day tomorrow at least.

Thankfully my son now has a car and I’m telling him he is to drive me to the seafront to see this in - if it happens. 18 years of childhood will pay off with free rides

Plymouth popping off! Not going to lie a little more lightning than I expected tonight and it's only getting on for half 1. Btw ppn isn't decreasing on landfall, it's just getting sheared ahead of the cells.

Just playing some Mario kart 8 and then checked the radar.. fast development despite the lack of electrical activity.

Lightning rates dropping back off now and the radar becoming more messy with fewer 'cores'. Possibly the right call not to get out of bed and whizz off in the car with my camera half an hour ago...
