Storms and Convective discussion - 1st May 2022 onwards

Max today (yesterday) here in London 22.8c. Never going to kick off stormwise. Even now about 13c. Cool night. Let's see what tommorow brings.

Looking good for Plymouth! Hopefully translates north-east towards Bridgwater but I highly doubt we'll see anything today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow though as it does look quite interesting. Enjoy the thunder and lightning all!

Activity is starting to turn East a touch now,looking likely more of Hampshire could be in the mix if it can make it. Meanwhile here just north of Brighton it's raining steadily with one heavy burst for a few minutes.

Just started raining here, quite a few distant flashes coming from the channel

Constant lightning directly south of my location, probably heading up the southern side of the Isle of wight 

Also, it looks like a new cell has fired up to the east of the main bulk of activity, good for people east of the IOW

After seeing how these cells have brewed up over the channel, I knew I was going to pull an all-nighter! It's just started raining here, and I have high hopes for some lightning at 3.

Thanks for everyone's nice messages. I'm still yet to see anything looking south, but as soon as i do I will update! To me, there look to be 2 cells 'following each other' in my direction... Maybe that will create something interesting.

Some nice development approaching the Cherbourg peninsula now which I will be keeping an eye on which could bring area's further east into play later.

It's actually laughable looking at the radar and rolling it back multiple frames. Seems to be some kind of dome around Bridgwater that is stopping rain from happening.

I'm still waiting. I can only start seeing the lightning once it gets past the top of the isle of wight. Been waiting for some time and nothing yet, but not giving up here!
