Yeah the angle of the wind isn't good for us until 4ish like you say.

But going on how badly the models have underestimated the precipitation in the south east, might get some heavier streamers than modelled.

Defo mate!that area of snow currently in the southeast looks way more potent than i thought it would be!!!

Still a lot of uncertainty regarding how far north the showers develop. Latest UKV has us under some during the evening and early night, but think it's a radar watch time. Again not expecting much but wouldn't be surprised to see a small surprise. Felt raw out there earlier, didn't have a coat so might be why!

If you look at the satellite, you can see (what looks like) wind convergence way out into the north sea and Netherlands. Heading towards Norwich region so might be this to look out for for us.

Same from me to you all...

AND...   Lets hope that the GFS is wrong and that we get loads of cold and snowy weather soon.

Oh yes I have recorded another century break for rainfall in my back garden with a total of 108mms for Dec 23..

That is the fifth month on the trot!!

MIA

Increasing snow chances (showers ) tonight perhaps ?

Swiss HD 4x4 recommended yesterday also shows light snow but as always lots of other factors and most will expect nothing at all 🙂

This would tie in with the longer trek across the North Sea for here compared to the SE.

The convergence zone off Denmark is also very hopeful and reassuring that we may pick up a good streamer later on.

Against that we have the higher heights reducing the amount of water vapor.  Are the  '850's stil expected to drop to -10C?

Nice to have some seasonal temps for a change. More sun would be nice, but for now I am just glad it's finally dry.

Couldn't agree more, I could have typed that word for word myself!! It does feel cold/ very cold out there, and long overdue. If these clouds can produce some snow, then even better...! But I'll take the cold for now.

Clouds definitely getting denser here - can see that as well on the latest satellite.

Clouds getting dense as well around Peterborough, so I guess some radar returns around that area soon.

Few flakes coming down here and there , from the rather boring looking Stratocumulus skies 👀🌨️❄️

Nice one friend, and any cloud that produces snow is never boring in my view...!

Joking aside, I know what you mean - if it wasn't for the cold, and the promise of something more, it's a rather uninspiring grey day...should be a decent spell of weather coming up though.

Good stuff! Is it anything heavy? Quite a few light showers heading inland.

Few flakes here too - albeit very infrequent.

Let's hope for more later!

Had a few snow grains land on the windscreen of the car parked in Acocks Green about 45 mins ago.

Wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't been in the car. So has also reached Brum.

Good news is that even this light it is at least snow,

MIA😁

Light snow shower coming through Coventry just now, lasted for a few minutes, temperature at 2°C, dewpoint -1.5°C.

Would have had a much stronger Wash streamer setting up like Feb 2021 or mid March 2018 if air was colder further north and lower heights. South /south east is doing well though.
